Paul's offense is built around reads and quick decision making ability by all players. Not merely the QB as in most systems, but the backs, receivers, and even linemen are taught to make pre-snap adjustments to their assignment on each play. Paul doesn't have a playbook, he teaches the players the plays on a chalkboard and has the players take notes. And Friday before each game the players are given an actual test on the game plan, which puts academic demands on his players not found under other coaching systems.
Question: When recruiting, is intelligence a large part of what he looks for in a football player, and if so, do the higher academic standards at schools like Navy and Georgia Tech actually help his recruiting efforts?
