Has the teams performance so far met, exceeded or fallen short of your expectations for this first year?

I'm not entirely surprised at our stuggles on offense, but I am surprised by compensating individual performances. I am also surprised that our defense looks better. I really expected a dropoff after Tenuta.

What are you pleasant or unpleasant surprises this season?

Pleasant surprises for me:

1) Our offense is playing exactly like I expected...the surprise here is that we are 6-1.

2) I didn't think we would have a huge dropoff after Tenuta, but I am pleasantly surprised by the way the secondary has stepped up. This may actually be a direct result of Tenuta leaving..but who knows.

Fallen short of expectations:

The OLine. I knew it was our weakness, and I know we have been nursing some injury, but damn they have got to step it up.

Expectations:

I expect us to improve some more, but not really "click" on O until next season. I can see us losing to either FSU or UNC, but winning the rest(ACC wise anyway...not so sure about ugag). Of course it would be great to win out...but hope for the best and expect the worst right?

Before the season I predicted 9-3(everyone call me crazy). Now I'm looking at either 9-3 or 10-2 and a nice east coast bowl.

edited for an afterthought: We are averaging 11 points a game on defense...that's awesome.

Moderately exceeded. The defense and intangibles have greatly exceeded my expectations; the offense is a little bit below where I thought it would be; the special teams are below my expectations.

Overall, a better season so far than I thought we would have.

The team has far exceed my expectations. What impresses me most though, is I think the team has failed to meet their own expectations: perfection. That can only lead to good things.

I said before we started that was going to be a really good or a really bad year. No 6-6 crap.

I thought we'd be lucky to win 5 games this year.

I now predict we win no more than 2 games if our O-lin keeps stinking it up. Now...I'd like to be wrong again.

5 was my number as well...After watching the spring game and a fall pratice I was getting ready for a looooong season but so far we have greatly exceeded expectations

Under the previous coach we did not improve as the year progressed. Obviously the opponents improve also. To fully exceed expectations we need to keep improving and win down the stretch.

5 W season this year with greatly exceeds because 3 of the my 5 predicted were the two div 2 teams and duke.

Right now, our record has basically met my expectations. The D is actually a little better than I thought they would be, and I thought they would be awesome. The offense is having its ups and downs, which is certainly not unexpected, though I did think the O was going to break out after the MSState game.

I thought we'd be at least 8-4, based on the D, the overall talent level on the team, and the weak schedule. I guess originally, I thought we'd be 5-2 now, but that was back when I thought Clemson would be really good...

Moderately...

Defense far exceeds

Offense is only slightly worse than I thought and its mostly just the OL... I don't think they are necessarily regressing each week but they just aren't getting any better... They are sitting in neutral each week.

I am estatic over Josh's and Jaybo's performances. The D line is every bit as good as I expected. We had a great D line in 1962 or 63 (I forget). This one is better. Dwyer is outstanding, just as I expected. LBs are very good, better than I expected. Our secondary is much better than I expected...the excellent coaching and defensive schemes really show their abilities. Team attitude appears to be the best in years. PJ has balls of brass and nerves of steel. Wouldn't you just hate being the opposing head coach?

If the OL were just barely adequate, this team would be great. Instead, I would say we are just good...perhaps very good; time will tell.

I publicly stated 5-1 after our first 6
I predicted 8-4, with a chance at 9-3 if we won Clemson.

I voted meets expectations. I wish most of you had the chance to watch this team practice. There is no way, any of you would have thought 5-6 wins this year.....

After the spring game I told my brother no way in hell we win 5 but after talking to his son in law and reevaluted and came up with 9 solely on our defense and a couple decent breaks on offense, but your right, spring and summer were ugly.
