According to this article from Annapolis, PJ is only bringing 3 assistants from his Navy staff, and Navy expects to retain 8 of 11 assistants.

"Todd Spencer will coach the line through the bowl game, but is believed to be bound for Georgia Tech. ... Slot backs coach Jeff Monken confirmed yesterday that he also has decided to go to Georgia Tech. Wide receivers coach Brian Bohannon, a Georgia native, is believed to be the only other staff member going with Johnson."

FWIW, Jeff Monken is said to be a great coach, a group of people in Statesboro have been wanting him to be their head coach for a while.

This list also leaves the option open for us to keep Giff cause no D coaches are coming from Navy! Also leaves the OC position open, is Mike Sewak still in the running?

if we have a OC. In pauls staff at navy he had no OC by title....since it was him.

Would having no OC help us in paying Tenuta more? It's nice that he is bringing those assistants that want to be or have ties in Ga, that's a big plus for their skill at recruiting in the South.

Sounds about right... no offensive coaches returning with most of the defensive staff intact.

Seems as though the ball is in Tenuta's court, but at least Giff will return from all indications, which is more important IMO. Ideally, I would like to see CJT at DC with Giff at his current position until Tenuta gets his shot at a HC gig somewhere.

Hopefully if Sewak comes in at QBC he can convince CJT to stay and, along with the Navy coaches, maintain continuity with CPJ's offense.... even though the players are different. I've heard good thinks about Monken, too, but the important thing is that all these coaches are familiar and comfortable with each other, which should accelerate the normally steep learning curve a new staff faces at Tech.

I wonder how Monken would affect Charles Kelly, who most of us would love to keep, as Monken coached ST at Navy, too?
