Where was he the majority of the game? I know MJ had dehydration or something along those lines but AT didn't even play a full half

He hurt it on kick coverage. I REALLY liked what I saw from the coaching staff last night, but starters playing on specizl teams, not so much.

MJ was laboring all night, he was slow on kickoff coveage on kickoffs and would sit out the next two plays. He obviously was less than 100% on what i thought was a humid night at BDS.

90% of this board and GT fans in general will disagree with you on this one. One of everyone's biggest complaints (mine included) was Gailey's use of freshman\scrubs on special teams. ST is where game-changing plays are made regularly. Ever heard of "Beamer-ball"?

Our special teams last year did a fantastic job..I though Kelly had really turned it around. In PJ's own words, last night was "terrible". it will get better.

Barnes and Jefferson have decent injuries as I understand it and could be questionable for Boston College and Virginia Tech. Plus...Shane Bowen is banged up. That is 3 of our top 4 LB's...not good news at all.

Agree with the comments on Kelly and our special teams this year. Kelly is no longer focused on special teams...and it showed last Thursday. Haivng a dedicated Special Teams Coordinator made a difference. Monken clearly isn't putting the focus on Special Teams that Kelly did. I wish Kelly would have retained the responsibility for Special Teams and picked up the cornerbacks. Special Teams mistakes will hurt us against quality football teams...I hope Monken can get this straightened out.

What I think showed is that we were learning a new offense (and D). We put a lot of reps into that. I think the coaches made a decision to practice special teams less as a unit, so we could practice our new O and D schemes more.

Once we settle into the new schemes, more time can be spent on special teams.

Also, our KO coverage looked bad because we didn't get more hang time on the kick. It is better to have a high hanging kick come down on the 10, than to have a rocket shot to the 2.

QFT. I think we often forget that kickoff coverage last year was greatly improved due to the kicker just as much as the coverage itself.

Blair had one of his weakest games (KO-wise) in comparison to all of the ones I remember from last year.
