ATLANTA - Georgia Tech senior Travis Bell has been named one of 20 semifinalists for the 2007 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award presented by the FedEx Orange Bowl.
ATLANTA - Georgia Tech senior Durant Brooks was named one of 10 semifinalists for the 2007 Ray Guy Award as the nation's top punter, the Greater Augusta Sports Council announced today.
Travis has made a nice comeback from a poor '05 season (11 of 21 FG's) to make an apparent nice 2-year run to finish his GT career. Even saw Sporting News picked him as their mid-season All-America at PK. Now if only he could have nailed that 52-yarder at MD this year....
Durant is just a monster.
Both guys could end up playing on Sundays.
Don't know what our underclass looks like in the kicking game, but those guys will have some tough shoes to fill next year.
