a few OL and DL recruits. After 2008; our D-line depth will not be stellar!

Same goes for OL

This is a critical class for both spots in that regard; and we haven't had squat when gailey was running it....I am hoping PJ turns this around.

Think about this. After 2008 we will only have two DT's on scholarship!!!! DE looks a little better...with R hall, peterson, morgan, the transfer....

i am concerned about DT. Peterson may be a candidate to move to DT....but still only 2...yes 2 on scholly. WOW. Need to get them in now folks....

33jacket, you are one of the very few posters on this board who has a true appreciation for what is going on with the GT football program.

Having said that, what are you thinking with a post like this? Haven't your read the Thank you Stingtalk, go to hell BBuzzoff thread?

This board is all about yellow gumdrops falling from the sky and golden retrievers with warm noses and Paul Johnson is the savior of the universe.

Posting such anti-GT messages is not welcome on The Hive, er, I mean, Stingtalk.

haha...well...this was an issue even if PJ wasn't here...

at some point...something will need to be done otherwise our future in spots will be perilously thin

Same ole crap from "jack uga off."

As for the original question, we have plenty on our radar. We just haven't landed any yet.

On the O-line, we have Omoregie Uzzi (4-star Guard), Nick McRae (3-star C), Ricky Barnum (3-star Guard), Greg Shaw (3-star Tackle), and T.J. Barnes (3-star Tackle).

On the D-line, we have Brandon Thompson (4-star Tackle) and William Green (4-star End). We also have an offer to Keith Wells (4-star End) who has a soft verbal to FSU. Recent events at that school may open up his recruitment though Auburn and Ohio State have a better shot at landing him. Can anyone tell us about Nick Craig (2-star Tackle) from Carrolton? He has great numbers from this past season. Only downside may be speed (5.22 40). He attended Tech's camp but has no offer. He curren;ty has a 3.6 GPA.

Whatever happened with all this Nick Claytor hype? Is he not going to be an OL?

Sometimes it's possible for someone to be so stupid that it's funny.

This isn't one of those posts.

didn't mean for this thread to be hijacked...but jacketup is entitled to his opinion whether we do or don't agree. Not agreeing doesn't give anyone a reason to pile on or insult...both ways

I just hope, despite jacketup's concerns, he still gives PJ a chance.

as for the recruitment purpose of this post...nice to hear we are in on some big uglies. Until we start landing a few....I am concerned! Time is dwindling.

33, I agree - I'll be somewhat concerned until we land some of these bigguns. There are some big schools recruiting them. I imagine if we offered Nick Craig, he'd commit relatively quickly.

As for jacketup, it's about jis posting "career" moreso than this thread. It's been the same negative crap from day one. BUT let's drop him for this thread and focus on the recruiting aspect. I'd like to hear from Mustang and Hivered on the current situation - too bad we're in the dead period now.

The problem is that he's not. What he's doing is the same nonsense that a select few on this board did throughout the period before Chan Gailey ever started coaching. All it does is add alot of venom to the board. While I should have held off on calling him stupid, his posts are nothing but constant negativity and while you're entitled to your opinion, other people are entitled to speak on it.

Nice rhetoric!

everyone on the OL list you named is still in the running.

as far as the DL, Wells is out, Green is out (he is now a LB and his stock is dropping), Recruits are being further evaluated by the new staff and will be given offers shortly i believe..

I know we don't really need huge dudes on the line. Gailey was never really attracted to them preferring the smaller but swift variety and I imagine that will bee CPJ's notion. But I'd kinda like to see a couple or three 6'6" 320-325 style mooses on the sideline at least. You know, for perspectives sake.

Ah, maybe not. But maybe.
