The preseason football rags are starting to come out. I believe it was Athlon Sports that made the following projection of GT's season:

7 losses...3 wins (Jack St...Duke...GardWebb)...2 toss-ups (Miss St...Miami).

Take it for what it is worth...I am hoping for more this season.

Linger longer!

So it's not a bias, they actually do think we'll suck.

If we can't keep from fumbling the ball, we may indeed suck.

Wish this was vegas lines, i'd have my money set!

Athlon gets most of it's readers between May and July, when absolutely no one else is talking about football. It's interesting to talk about, but I would hardly consider them credible.

Another guy (working for a magazine) with a computer ranking and predicting. I believe he is wrong because of our talent coming back. We have lots of fine athletes. PJ will make something work, even if he has to adjust some things differently than we might expect. He has said that he uses the talent he has and does what they do best. He might pass more or run more, I don't know, but this Coach is a winner, and he will WIN at Tech. If our Defense holds up, we could be in another Bowl Game.

I think they had UGAY around # 5 or # 6...said they will lose of FL and possibly another. However, it said that they could still find themselves in the Nat'l Title game even with the one loss.

If they get left on the field like they did during the Ball days, it doesn't matter how good they are. They will eventually break.

Ball and company more than doubled "three wins" every year. So did Taylor.

Wow...imagine that.

If we were able to consistently win 7 or more games with the worst offense I've ever seen in my entire life, then I feel pretty confident we can win 7 this year.

In this segment of the publishing business in general, it seems that whoever gets out there with the first annual football (or basketball, for that matter)magazine gets a disproportionately larger share of the readership $, factuality notwithstanding.

Look for complete blind ignorance about injured players, transfers in or out and emerging talent, they just want to be out there first.

For fun, (and the worst offenders) next year check out the "NFL Draft" issues from Athlon and Sporting News, who this year had the 72 million dollar man Matt Ryan going after Brian Brohm, Ray Rice ahead of Jonathan Stewart, Early Doucet as the #1 WR, Ryan Clady an ENTIRE ROUND ahead of #1 pick Jake Long and countless totally undrafted names slated for lofty 3rd-4th round positions. The point is that they were in such a hurry to print something that they went to press before the Combine and didn't have correct numbers, sizes or scouting input. much like they do every year before the college season starts.

I'd also love to take these numbers from Vegas as well!
