Has anyone seen Wake play this year? I haven't had a chance to see them play. Does anyone think they match up well against BC?

BC has the easiest remaining schedule of the 1 conference loss teams in the Atlantic Division, but Wake's schedule isn't completely horrible either.

If Wake can beat BC then all they have to do is beat Maryland and either FSU or VT to win the division. It's a big "if", but not far-fetched by any stretch of the imagination, since they should be favored against both FSU and MD.

I don't give Maryland much of a chance to win the division considering who they have left. They could very well lose every remaining game this season.

A look at all of their schedules:

Boston College:
11/04 at #22 W Forest
11/11 Duke
11/18 Maryland
11/23 at Miami

Wake Forest:
11/04 #16 BC
11/11 at Florida St
11/18 #23 Va Tech
11/25 at Maryland

Maryland
11/04 at #19 Clemson
11/11 Miami
11/18 at #16 BC
11/25 #22 W Forest

But if Clemson were to win out and Wake dropped either VT or FSU, they would be tied and Clemson would win on head-to-head.

Unless BC or Maryland also ended up with 2 losses ...

And so on ...

Wake Forest looks like Wake Forest: well coached and disciplined. I think the difference this year is the perfect storm of leadership and athleticism. They've been hit with the injury bug and persevered, but I think it ends vs. BC.

Too many horses on that BC squad for them to hang. NCSU has horses too, but they are coached by a clown in sunglasses.

Excellent point. I wasn't giving Clemson much credit after that showing last week. Guess they still have a pretty solid shot.

I could see Wake going 0-4 with their remaining ACC schedule.

So could I, but I could also easily see them going 3-1. Lets not forget that the same Clemson team who demolished us, beat Wake on nothing more than complete luck. Wake should be undefeated right now.

Very possible techjacket, but I am in no way counting WF out. With whatever calibur athletes they have, they are doing a good job of "cranking butt." I haven't seen any sign of WF setting the pace on recruiting, may be wrong, but if they have, I've missed it. Matter of fact, I'd much rather play a team with all blue chippers that don't work at it than to depend on beating a team of walk-ons that are busting their butts. That is exactly how I'm seeing WF this year.

Very true every year, but it is incredibly evident this year. They are playing as a single unit and its really showing, they're all bought into the system and are really doing some good things. They're going to give teams a run for their money, thats for sure, my guess is 2-2 in their remaining games, but 4-0 wouldnt suprise me as much as 0-4.

Did you see Wake vs. BC last year? Wake blew that game six ways from Sunday after leading 30-21 with minutes remaining.

I expect them to have a bit of a chip on their shoulders and play BC just as tough this year.

Gotta Disagree Beej .....

with your assessment of the Clemson - Wake game. Clemson took advantage of a big break and rode the momentum of that big play to win the game. But I wouldn't ascribe it to luck. Also, it could have been crushing the way Wake loss that game. But they did a great job recovering from it and winning the next week on the road.

Wake has been surviving all year. They've won several close games they maybe should've lost. That said I think they will play BC close. I don't think they have the horses and their luck may run out.

This is very true! They SHOULD have beaten Clemson. Im gonna go out on a limb here, and say I wouldnt be surprised to see WAKE win out!

Did you watch the begining? Wake had a 1st and goal at the 1 in the first quarter they didn't even get points on. Wake dominated that game in nearly all repsects, and lost on a couple of fluke plays.

Much like Clemson-GT two years ago, where Clemson essentially dominated us and we won on a fluke.

I'm going with 3-1 for BC, 2-2 for WF, and 1-3 for the turtles. BC would then win over Clemson on the tiebreaker.

As good a prognostication as any but the only sure win I see is BC playing Duke. Any of those other games could be toss ups depending on which teams show up. Should be interesting as all three teams left have the other two still on the schedule. Miami will have a huge say in who wins out as well. Overall BC has the best remaining schedule.

Your certainly right, these teams are way too close to call, and Clemson ain't dead yet either. If I was a bettin' man though, that's what I'd put my dead presidents on.

Wake has looked pretty average all year. They were weak at home against Duke. Games with NCSU and UNC were unimpressive; they were lucky to beat all three teams from the Triangle. These are their only conference wins.

Games with Syracuse and Ole Miss were their best - they dominated in Oxford where Auburn struggled.

But, winning is contagious. They have redshirted without exception and have a lot of maturity. I predict they will go 1-3 down the stretch. But - get by BC and who knows?

Grobe has them believing in themselves. He lost starting QB and TB early to injury and has still won. He is likely ACC Coach of the Year.

No actually they should have lost to Duke. They were pretty much dominated but Duke screwed up enough to lose again. Wake is okay and they can beat most anybody. But they can lose to anyone as well. It wouldn't shock me for them to win out. But it also wouldn't shock me for them to go 0-4 down the stretch.
