Just got in from the game a couple of hours ago - made detour with the wife to spend a few days in the mountains. I can imagine some of the frustration on the board right after the game. But, all in all, it was a W over Clemson and we are 2-0. Clemson fans were sick after the game - man on MARTA said, "losing once would be bad, but losing twice was awful. I wish we had just let you win big."

My thoughts:
1. The start was amazing. Just the week before I watched ECU get up 24-0 early then hang on to beat App. State 29-24. Then, we get up 24-0 and have a come from behind 30-27 win. If I go to another game this year and my team is up 24-0 early in the 2nd, I will have a cussing fit and get up and leave. Sometimes, if it's too easy early, it is hard to stay focused and to reengage. Two plays that led to the great comeback by Clemson - the drop by Roddy of the pass on a possession down. With his bad hand it might have been good to throw to another back. With that catch we just might have made it 31-0. Second, the quick strike to Spiller was huge. Even if Clemson drives for a score and runs a lot of clock we are OK. Spiller, Ford, and the freshman QB are terrific.
2. I liked the play of our center - he really stays low, like Johnson wants.
3. Our guards have a wide split and the tackles got inside of them and made plays all night. It is an interesting chess match with our O-line and the opponents D-line running our offense.
4. I would love to see us shift the A-backs every now and then to a more traditional wish-bone formation, to open up some ball fakes, counters, cross bucks. I would also like to see us run Dwyer a little wider when a defense attacks us like Clemson. Block the tackles inside and have Dwyer angling more to the outside. QB would then read LB's more than DT's on the inside handoff.
5. I like this team - I believe they will be undefeated against Va Tech. It was good to be in Atlanta!

Good post. I like this team too. We've got to beat Miami and North Carolina before we accomplish your fifth point, but it is possible.

Well said...Well Said

Bottom line, it's not a 12 game season it's 12 1 game seasons. As soon as we start looking down the road we're very likely to get blindsided.

If CPJ keeps'em focused on the task at hand then we'll be hell to handle
