Well after Boise I figured it was time for a little vacation so the family and I explored the great West Coast. Lovely trip and relaxation, if anyone has not yet ventured out west I would encourage you to do so.

Now for some Football:

1. I think the current players understand this regime will be more disciplined, PJ will run a much tighter ship and the players understand that things are going to change.

2. There was a meeting last night between PJ and the team, the first real meeting with everyone I guess you could say.

3. Now that the staff is complete and once recruiting can crank back up we will be going at it full speed ahead. We have a number of positions to fill still and I would look for anywhere between 12-18 new offers to go out soon. We are especially in need at the DL/OL areas.

4. Some recruits I see a lot of you guys like that you can pretty much cross off now is Daniels and Vital the new running back that popped up. Coley White looks to be a longshot from our perspective as fitting in as a QB at the next level, I'm gonna guess its arm strength but thats just a guess. Thompson is still in it but we are trailing, our biggest selling point is Derrick Moore who the family loves, we still hold a chance but an outside one. One we really need to grab is TJ Barnes to shore up the DL. There are a few new QB's who will come into the mix soon as well as another RB or two. Reid is still ours to lose. Pridemore is not that big of a blow when you see the other LB's coming in.

5. Transfer- With Peek gone it pretty much shows the TE will be non factor in our new offense. I look for one maybe two more transfers, one being a QB. Jamaal Evans will be staying.

6. In two years we might have the best safety duo in the country, Mr. DJ Donley looks to be moving to defense to light some people up next season, him and Burnett will be a dangerous duo for other teams to deal with.

7. I think the staff will explore moving around a few more people in regards to switching sides of the ball, there might be one person who gets a look at QB as well in the switch. Willie White could be going back to offense we shall see.

8. This next month will be telling with recruiting, we have to move swiftly and secure some players, look to sign 21-23 I think, unless we get 25 we really want.

9. With the whole Alabama recruiting violations thing, the NCAA knows and will be looking into it, it happened and is against the rules now if the NCAA thinks its minor and does nothing about it we will have to wait and see.

Basketball

1. Been a disappointing season so far but I think this team has a run in it coming up. The staff believes they are starting to gel better and hopefully can start getting some W's. I think we will get some good wins in the ACC before the year is over, have to take care of UGA coming up though.

2. I'm sure everyone already knew this but Dickey is sitting out because of his knee's not academics, he had a good last semester and will be eligible next season if he keeps it up. It was best for Rasean and will help out tremendously next season.

Taylor and Booker seem too old for it to make sense to transfer, so does that mean Nesbitt is the guy?

That makes my day. Donley and Burnett are studs.

im sorry if this offends you but how do you know all this stuff demjackets? i love the info though. keep up the good work

Sounds like Ingram then.

Ingram is already gone

Its TB and he is probably going to transfer.

Also, wanted to add the DJ to defense thing isn't yet in stone. Jerrard Tarrant has played really well at S and there is a chance that if he is good enough, then DJ doesn't move, OR does and Burnett stays at CB. But, DJ will be moved to D to start with!!!!!

There are alot of options here in that regard. Mario Butler may make noise to.

Oops. Forgive me - I'm severely sleep deprived.

Thanks for the update Dems, glad to hear lil'Mal is staying.

I agree.

Thanks for the update, I am happy that Jamaal will be staying.

After meeting him, it seems that he represents the "I" well and is a good ambassador for the program and the school. Very affable young man.

Thanks for the updates, Dem. Dominique Reese the player that might be moved to QB?

That sounds promising. Cornerback is so hard a spot to fill.

It's been said that M. Burnett could be an intriguing QB possiblity in this offense. I know he's an all american caliber DB, but just look at Pat White and WVU to see how a dynamic QB in this type of offense can completely take over a game. No DB can do that. If he's capable, I would be all for a switch like this, and he would still make the NFL as a DB, WR, or whatever he wanted, because he's that good of an athlete.

Edit to ask the question: Is he being considered for QB?

Dominique Reese at QB would be very interesting. He played that position at Auburn HS and was a baller.

Didn't even think about Burnett playing QB. Definitely has the smarts for it.

That's what I loved about last year's class. Tons of options. I must say I love the idea of putting Donley at safety with Tarrant, and leaving Burnett at CB with Mario Butler.

I sure hope he isn't being considered at all, he's the only proven db in a secondary that will break in two new safeties next year (if Burnett returns as a corner as opposed to safety) we need him to play center field or lock down one side of the field next year to ease the transition for the rest of the db's. We will have Nesbitt, Jaybo and whoever comes in as our next QB recruit as dual threat guys at qb plus Reese so to turn Morgan into a QB after all the progress he showed last year would be to regress, Keep him in the defensive backfield, specially with our lack of proven DB depth and an absolute talent in Nesbitt at QB. Burnett could at most reach #2 in the QB depth chart (assuming Nesbitt's academics are OK) so keep him where he is because he is badly needed as a DB and has no real chance of starting.

Reese has to be the guy that's given the shot at QB.

Well that made my day knowing that josh and jamal arent leaving. What about dj we keep hearing rumors? And is it a lock that he is moving to d?

I agree. The only way I would want to see him moved is if he could be a Pat White caliber game changer at QB, and noone else on our roster could. Hopefully, one of our other QB's will be that type of player. I also agree with the poster who mentioned a defensive backfield possiblity of Burnett, Tarrant, Donley, and Butler. That would be championship quality! :wow:

****. School must be back in session.

Hey, don't knock the guy just for that. I did my best Daily Hive Recaps F'ing off in the CE Mason computer cluster waiting for a ride home from class.
