As I mentioned earlier in the week, this would be our first Top-5 win at home since the epic 7-6 win over #1 Bama in 1962. Well, chew on this nugget as well...

Tomorrow's win would make us 6-1 for a 2nd straight year. We haven't had back-to-back 6-1 starts since 1955-56. We started 6-1 in '55 on the way to a 9-1-1 season and a Sugar Bowl win over Pitt. We followed that with a 6-1 star in '56 (6-0, actually) on the way to a 10-1 finish. The only loss was the epic #2 vs #3 matchup with Tennessee; a 6-0 loss for Tech.

Talk about uncharted waters...

The tie against ND was 1980. Tech and UGa were the only two teams ND couldn't beat that year. We should claim a share of the 1980 MNC for that.

If it weren't for those nine fluke losses we could do just that - darn it.

Don't remind me. Winning that game could have been the difference between an ACC Championship and an Orange Bowl trip vs. getting raped by LSU. F*** that UVA game.
That was the worst loss for me last year. That one really hit me below the belt.

Yeah, and we were about to go 4-0 since such and such year, and look how our next game ended up. Sorry guys... I don't mean to be a Negative Nancy, but it's gameday. If we win, we'll celebrate the momentous occasion then, not now. For now, it's drinking and hooking up the iPod with "Ramblin Wreck" on repeat.

I am SO mutha-f*cking ready for this game....
