I am hearing that we can now take Mr. Hill off the list. I don't have any details on it, just that he's no longer a commit.

Let's try not to poor mouth the kid too bad now. He'll grow and learn from his mistakes hopefully. Time for us to move on.

That's real scary, MB, as most good to real good teams are already in the 15, 16, 17 verbal committment categoery. Virginia, NC St, NCar are already in this category & Md is close. They seem to be getting what they want & are very happy with these early committs. (FSU, Fla & Miami play their usual games with their type players & still make a killing in the end). Why is GT so far behind the upper eschelon teams in each & every conference?
I realize no one wants to think of GT as getting the leftovers after the conference leaders have chosen, but an awful lot of players we have offered have committed elsewhere. Do you see any particular reason why these committed players have not chosen Tech?
We have had to drop off these early ones & offer our '2nd round'. Will we be able to pick up these still very good players?
If we don't start picking up soon & start losing the next round, we could be down to marginal to pretty good players in a hurry. Why haven't we started picking up some from our next round of offering yet?
Do you have another backup list of players we will drop to if the ones you have named start committing elsewhere?

We really can't pick up any numbers until all the other schools are through getting who the want first. :^)

All I can say ACE is to continue to have patience. There are honestly tons of good players still high on our list. I'd like to have more committed right now too but I think we owe it to the new staff to let their strategy play out. If we look back in FEB and aren't happy with what we have, then we can examine what we did wrong. I still see top talent (listed some of those below) that is very serious about us, so I'm not too concerned just yet. I don't think we'll have a "great" class, but I still think we can do pretty well.

Not that it really matters to us, but I should mention that, in the south, Tennessee only has 1 commit to date, FSU has 4, Miami has 6, Maryland has 6, Clemson has 4, Ole Miss has 4, Duke has 2. Some other schools have numbers but no overwhelming talent, like: Wake, Kentucky, MSU, Vandy, Virginia. There are just a handful of teams that have good numbers and talent right now, teams like: LSU, UGA, Alabama, UNC, SC, Ark, Auburn. So, I think our concerns are real but in most cases pretty overblown by the fans. I'm still inclined to wait before passing judgement or assume we are down to our B-list of players.

some top talent looking at GT:
Ian-Yates Cunningham
Reshaun Grant >>> GT leads
Kelcey Luke
Patrick Carter
Bill Foran
Patrick Danahy
Mansfield Wrotto
Michael Heard
Dana Graydon
Avery Roberson
LaRon Landry
Jeramie Johnson >>> GT leads
Kenny Scott

What we did wrong was hire the wrong coach, and let go of a staff that was made up of good recruiters like Mac, Roof, Kelly, and Thompson.

We were told that the recruits would just flock to Gailey due to his NFL experience. We were told that him being a Georgia boy would help us in south Georgia. Neither happened last year and are not happening this year.

We were sold a bill of goods by this resume worship and if we look up in FEB and it is as bad as it appears now, then we will be paying for it for years to come....long after the nightmare of Coach Gailey is over.

Beeware....it's PAST getting OLD! Just f___ off and die already, 'k?

Buzz,
If you think it is old already....just wait until the full reality of the Chan Gailey error...err...uh...era sets in.

Props to Master B for being a voice of reason on both boards.

If I see a Deadhead, I don't even read the post anymore. Many lives would be easier if everyone played along.
