Bad Clock Management

I thought the clock management at the end of the first hal was awful. We hurried up to run a second and short play and let about eighteen seconds run off at about the minute mark. We were holding three timeouts, only down 17-14. Then we have the big loss and grounding call and inexplicably use a timeout before punting. We are down to 2 and punt them to the 15. Either use thevtimeout for your offense to settle them down, or keep thevthree timeouts and try to make BG punt from their goal linevwith about 25 seconds to go.

I would have used the first timeout at 14-0 after about the third BG first down - a personal foul, missed tackle and soft coverage. I would love for Key to have called a timeout and ripped the defense to ge their heads back in the game and play.

When your defense is this bad - and the Wake Forest game turned out to be fool's gold, as we saw what happens to the other team when they don't make adjustments - going three and out, three and out and four and out, with each possession taking less than a minute off the clock, is only putting more stress on a defense already teetering on caving.
For all the improvements on offense this year, they still bear culpability in yesterday's humiliation.
