What an awful weekend for the conference:

1) We lost to Notre Dame
2) Virginia was pummeled by Pitt
3) North Carolina lost at home to Rutgers
4) Duke SHUT OUT AT HOME by a I-AA team
5) BC lucky to beat Central Michigan (CMU coach is a confirmed moron)
6) Miami's offense looked horrid last night, FSU's only slightly better
7) Wake won, but lost QB Mauk with a broken arm
8) Clemson won, but lost star LB Waters to a torn ACL
9) VPI, Maryland, and NC State beat I-AA teams

It does seem we have a shot at the ACC championship game if we can play well up in Blacksburg...

Yeah, unfortunately all of the above are likely to improve their performance before meeting us, whereas we played at about our top potential.

The top of our potential?

Our special teams can only get better (certainly no worse).

Our offense can only get better (ceratinly no worse) and our defense played at that level in 10 or 12 games last year.

I suspect that we will have a game or two like that again this year but most games will be better...

The only mar on our special teams was kickoffs. I loved the new "clemson style" punt formation. Didn't look like ND was prepared for it at all.

I expect our offense to score more points in upcomming games, but don't think it will be appreciably "better" unless we see a personnel change at QB or a scheme change generally.

You know we keep saying that game after game, year after year and the results remain the same.

This is very good news for our Coastal title hopes.
