Sorry to bring back up RB, just when you thought he was gone, but some UGA fans on another board said they heard Ball won his appeal and is back in class. They're ofcourse blathering on about how they rigged it so Chan couldn't play Ball. Has anybody heard anything? I mentioned that he could have fell into the Theodis Tarver situation.

If It Could Have Been ....

rigged, don't they think we would have done it long before now?

I think he means that someone in the adminstration rigged the appeals process and/or eligibility evaluation so that Chan was unable to play Reggie in the Gator Bowl and the appeals process couldn't complete before then.

Isn't it different than Theo's situation? If I recall correctly, Theo was ineligible only by Tech standards, not by NCAA standards, so they could have repealed the suspension any time they wanted.

The rigging conspiracy theory is BS. The people who determine's Ball's grades are his professors and his professors alone. There would be hell to pay in the registrar office if his, and only his, grade somehow was recorded as something different than what the professor gave them.

The Conspiracy Nonsense

There are people with access to computers that think it is easier as a head coach, if you choose not to play an athlete, to arrange a grand conspiracy of professors, grad assistants, registrars, AA personnel, assistant coaches, and fellow players and students, than to call an athlete in your office and tell him that his leg is bothering him and you are playing the other guy.

It bothers me that these people have access to computers.

Re: The Conspiracy Nonsense

ugag fans with computers is a really scary thought isn't it? It's also amazing that they can actually get them to work.

Agree Techbert, but it continually amazes me how naieve some Tech fan internet posters can be at times. Sometimes, things do happen everywhere that aren't covered in handbooks or policy manuals.

no with your penchant for dreaming up stuff it could be that a) we really did make RB ineligible to give Chan an excuse to not play him in the GB, 2) Clough, DRad or Gailey made the prof change his grade so he could graduate, 3) we slowed down the appeals process purposefully to make sure he couldn't play or 4) aliens really did land at Roswell.

NC, I keep the really good stuff to myself. It would blow your mind. ;)

To be clear though, CG did want RB to play.
