Bark Madley: Clock strikes midnight on the Gailey era

I told my wife this morning when I picked up the paper that I'm done with the AJC. I've wasted my last half a dollar on that rag. This looks like a little crafty writing wrapped around some innocent quotes from Tashard that seemed intended to just say "No comment."

Mark Bradley needs to go. After decades of trying to write with half the ability of Outlar and Bisher, he has clearly failed.

did you listen to the postgame show?...

tashard was asked by Wes about gailey and his future. Don't recall his exact words but I was left with the distinct impression that it was not a "vote of confidence' from Mr. Choice. Did anyone else notice that? Not that TC will be making any hiring/firing decisions but I was always lead to believe that CCG was a "player's coach".

I caught it too. Tashard basically said that we was too hurt emotionally to care right now, for lack of a better way to put it. It definitely wasn't like a "back off of Coach Gailey" comment.

Here's a better quote from the Columbus paper:

"I don't know," Choice said. "I have the utmost respect for coach Gailey because he gave me the chance to come to Georgia Tech. Having said that, it's up to everybody else.

"I like coach Gailey. He's helped us out with more probably than just being a football player, what's important in life. That's something I'll take with me when I graduate next semester."

Added Choice when asked another question about Gailey: "I just play the game of football. I can't control anything with the coaches."

The AJC did this with Choice last year too, after Reggie was declared ineligible. His actual quote was something like "It's different with Bennett being the starter, because Reggie has been our leader all year" and they shortened it to "It's different with Bennett being the starter."

Okay, help me here. Exactly what is it you think is different in those two quotes you use from last year? The meaning is exactly the same. He said it's different. That's not a good or a bad thing. Much like this year's and the perceived differences in the AJC and Macon quotes. They're the same thing. Any nuances are what you're reading into it.
