Maybe it is legitimate so I will do the best I can.

How does Tech's newest recruit Steven Threet compare with the Clemson recruit, Willy Korn? I don't know for sure. Korn has been a Clemson recruit since his sophmore year so beyond seeing his name at or near the top of most quarterback list I know very little. He is very well thought of. He is a run-pass threat.

I'd say Threet is more of a pure passer than Korn. Threet is also very well thought of.

It might be a Tim Tebow-Matthew Stafford type deal....two different types of quarterbacks.

In terms of prestige Korn might have Threet by a hair. Is that what you are looking for? I suspect it is. That is the BBBBuzzOFF way of doing their bashing when it comes to our recruits....if that is your intent.

A legitimate question would be a comparison of skills...a Tebow-Stafford type deal. Is that what you want to know? If it is you won't find a answer on your board.

Old Foggy sure as hell don't know.

Maybe someone who follows recruiting and does know about Korn will see this and give you a better answer than I can.

I also notice that not one regular BBBBuzzOFF poster will stand up and congradualate Threet on his choice of schools and thank Chan Gailey and staff for a job well done.

Par for the course.

If you check out the film on Threet, you will be surprised at his mobility even at 6-6, 230. Even when moving, he has excellent body control to insure that he is getting the proper weight beyond the throw so that it goes where it is supposed to. He steps into his throws well.

One intangible on Threet is that he is apparently one of those guys on the field that has a great time and tries to make sure everyone around him is having fun. He is incredibly competitive...but is also kind of a confident clown. The other kids at the camp really liked him...and even the fans in attendance came away saying "wow".

He is a leader from what I hear.

...I stopped following Korn long ago so I am not sure how to compare with him. Clemson is working on a strong recruiting year which is following sub-par recruiting by Bowden up until this point.

To me, this is an incredibly important comment. If true, what we have is a real winner. We need to get him to the boat!
Stats and body specs are important, no doubt. Heart is too, but that is a subjective read. Some people are wound so tight that the team is hurt because of one person.
The way I read the above quote is of a person with a relaxed confidence that will make the entire team play better.

It's been said a thousand times, so one more time won't hurt: This team like any other needs calm, confident leadership.
We were very spoiled with Joe and Goose. No knock intended on RB, but he is wound too tight.

Great insight Hivered. I hope you are right and I hope we get this man come February!

Starting Reggie Ball as a true freshman may-and I mean may--pay a dividend here. Threet knows that this staff will start a freshman. Going through spring practice gives him a better shot. That may be why we landed him/

The downside is that a bunch of higher classmen QB's may-and I mean may-transfer.

I noticed that he wears what looks like a diamond stud in his ear. That probably is a way of expressing his self confidence....which is something kids...prospective teammates....these days can relate to.

Threet chews on razor blades while Korn chews cotton candy. Threet is from a tough northern climate, cold and desolate, battles are fought in the frozen tundra. A meat and potatoes type guy. Playing against Clemson will be nothing after battling sub zero temperatures with white out conditions in Michigan.

Korn is a pretty boy from South Carolina.

For the Bunger: I saw your reply to the answers you got to your question. In fact you ignored them...both here and on your own pathetic site. Looks like my first thought was right. Your question wasn't legit but another BBBuzzOFF attempt to bash Gailey, the staff, and the young quarterback.

Tech Head and Beernutts should realize by now that you FAGATs(Fans Against Gailey And Tech) will never give in to your hate.

Nice effort by Tech Head and Beer Nutts but they should know there is no debate on what should be called the 'Golden Shower' Forum....you know for "piss on Tech football".

Now that is their real agenda.
