The undefeated teams keep on going. ND beat FSU, N.C. State beat Clemson, UGA beat KY, Ohio State beat Penn State, and Miami and VT won. I'm almost certain there has never been a situation like this one since the inception of the BCS. Every undefeated team won this week, mostly against very tough opponents. Here is who's left (and notice, none play each other except for Miami/VT):

Bowling Green: Play nobody for the rest of the year. I'm not counting them in any further analysis . They could go undefeated and nobody will care, nor should they with their schedule. They'll finish about 15th or so in the nation if they win out. I'm sure they are all fine academic schools, but this is a serious football board...

Georgia: Still have Flordia, Ole Miss, Auburn, GT and a SEC championship game. One of the tougher roads to go undefeated. It won't happen, but it's nice to see them get their hopes up. Given recent history, they'll probably fire Richt because he didn't win the MNC this year.

Miami: Rutgers, @Tennessee, Pitt, @Syracuse, VT remain. Not overly difficult. UT, Pitt, and VT can all challenge. Mainly VT. But all will be underdogs. If I had to bet on it right now, I'd pick Miami vs. ND in the title game. In case you haven't heard, I think Syracuse has won like 1 game this year so I don't see them as being a problem for Miami or VT.

N.C. State: GT, @Maryland, @UVA, FSU remain. They have played almost nobody all year long. I think SOS was in the 80's in the BCS. I do not see them winning out with their backloaded schedule. They can lose to any of their remaining opponents. They are too inconsistent, beating Duke by 2 and Clemson by a bunch. I think they will trip somewhere. On a side note, GT needs 1 more win for a bowl. We should get it against Duke, but N.C. State would be nifty. UGA would be optimal. Because I dislike them somewhat. Obviously.

Notre Dame: Boston College, Navy, Rutgers, @USC. By *far* the easiest remaining schedule of the undefeateds. Only USC can even semi-challenge. I have ND in the title game now. Side note, I always wanted to go to a ND game, so I'm going to the Rutgers game. Bought tickets before the season started, had no idea they would be this good though. I should probably sell the damn things on ebay for a mint.

Ohio State: Minnesota, Purdue, Illinois and Michigan remain. Ohio State will roll to Michigan, then will play them in Columbus. They beat them at Michigan last year. I rank this as 2nd easiest schedule remaining. Logically, I should pick ND vs. Ohio State in the title game, but it's just too difficult to pick Ohio State over Miami. We'll see.

Oklahoma: Colorado, Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech, OSU, and Big 12 title game remain. That's a lot of games. A lot of tough games. Colorado, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Big 12 Title game could all beat OU. OSU beat OU last year as well. I just don't see it happening for the Sooners.

VT: Pittsburgh, @Syracuse, West Virginia, Virginia, @Miami. Pitt and Miami can beat VT. So can UVA if they ever realize that the 1st half isn't just for warming up. With a Super Bowl coach and 1400 SAT scores you'd think UVA would figure this stuff out. Pitt destroyed VT last year at Pitt. VT hasn't been stellar the past few weeks. If they don't return to the form of their first few games, Miami will kill them, and they may lose to Pitt. Side Note #2. I'm going with a VT buddy to the Pitt game next week, gotta find a bar to watch the GT game (if it's on ABC in Virginia...)

Summary, it's still theoretically possible for 6 teams to go undefeated. I predict ND, Ohio State, and Miami to actually do it. That's all I wanted personally, is for >2 teams to go undefeated and screw up the BCS, then maybe we'll get a playoff. I still hope for all of them (except uga) to go undefeated for maximum impact.

I still think it will be Okla and Miami. If either loses, ND could slip in. Ohio State always blows one somewhere.

I doubt UGA will run the table even though they looked the best they have all year against UK in the second half. Miami or VT loses, NC State wont get by FSU if they beat GT, I dont think they are very good, ND still must play USC who is the best in the PAC-10 right now and I have a gyut feeling that Ohio State will choke. Oklahoma will probably run the table leaving a Miami Oklahoma mathup of the 2 past National Champions.

Good post, Conyers. OU and UGAG's runs look like the toughest to me, partly on account of those championship games. ND plays like a winner. The announcers yesterday were quoting one of the assistants who came fom Stanford when he was asked what the difference is between ND and Stanford. "Here the players talk about football on the sidelines, at Stanford they talked about all kinds of stuff."
I found myself pulling for them yesterday.

Hilarious quote Bellyseries. Insightful.

Wonder what GT players talk about on the sides...
