This will do it for BC! Next week Death Valley.
Clemson will play for the title!

A quarter to play and they are only down by 13. Its far from over.

EDIT - statement retracted - UM just scored again :P

This game is irrelevant to BC. The only thing that matters to them is a Clemson win. They could lose tonight and lose to Miami in two weeks and still go to the ACCCG if they beat Clemson, and they could win tonight and win vs Miami and still wouldn't go to the ACCCG if they lose to Clemson.

What's at stake tonight is just their rank and Ryan's Heisman hopes. It's irrelevant to the CG.

No, beej, with a loss tonight it severely hurts BC's chances as a BCS at-large. The BCS picture shrunk today with the OSU loss and the ACC actually had a shot at 2 at-larges again as long as BC's only other loss was to VPI in the title game.

Don't forget that any ACC team fishing for an at-large bid is going to have 2 losses, because they either won't have made, or won't have won the ACCCG.

Did you seriously think with 8 some odd 1 loss teams out there that a 2 loss ACC team would get an at-large? There is only one way for anyone in the ACC to get to the BCS this year, due to how the race has shaped up, and that's to win the conference.

If BC won last night and then lost to Virginia Tech in the ACCCG they would've only had 1 loss, which is why I was saying these games were important, even if they didn't have an effect on the division race.

:fingersx: last I checked, they lost to FSU as well.

FSU loss+ACCCG loss=2 losses

Whoops. (Do we have a red-face emoticon? Too lazy to look.)

Anyway, with the BCS shaping up as it is there is currently a dearth of teams available for at-large bids, due to a glut of eligible teams in some conferences (Big 12, SEC) and lack of eligible teams from others (Big East, Big Ten). A two-loss BC team (with the second loss to VPI in the ACCCG) would have been eligible and been in the running for an at-large selection because of all the stuff that happened yesterday.

The BCS picture is going to be very interesting from here on out. Sucks for my bowl predictions, though, because I keep coming up a team short. :\
