Beamer in Atlanta hospital

Has anyone ever heard what caused that large growth under one side of his jaw? It's always been there as long as he's been a football coach at VT. Might have been from an early life accident where the scar tissue stretched over the years. Anybody know?

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I heard thats what it is. Although before I heard that, I always imagined it was a giant goiter or something...
 
A VPI fan told me once that it had something to do with a lawn mower accident when he was a kid. Maybe a gas explosion.
