ESPN Radio now. Says Florida is head and shoulders above everyone, but the Irish is right there with them.

Beano got sloppy seconds with the Leprechaun on this one. Holth already picked Notrah Dame to go to the BCS title game.

I don't know why people jump on predictors. These are the same guys that picked Ugag #1, Auburn & Tennessee inthe top 10, and Michigan in the top 25 last year. I heard a guy on CBS predict BC in the ACCCG, so any and everything goes. Mark Twain once said "predictions are easy unless it pertains to the future".

What happened? Did Notre Dame receive some blessing from God this year, because I don't understand this mini-bandwagon that some of these people are jumping on.

If UF can beat the likes of UGA and UT by 40, does that mean they could beat ND by over 100?

They will find a way to lose 3 or 4, so it won't matter. Although if they lose 3 and make a BCS game it will be a travesty.

Notre Dame couldnt even make the BCS if Urban Meyer took over today.

I liked Holtz's analysis...

He said, "You don't have to be the best team in the nation; you only have to be the best team in the stadium, for twelve weeks."

They're looking at ND's HORRIBLE schedule and realize that any team that was REMOTELY half good could go through it easily with one loss.

Basically, they're admitting in advance that ND has gamed the system, and expect whoever's BCS #1 to win the NC in a snoozer as ND sneaks in and plays as B team to a scrimmage on national TV.

bingo...the reason ND makes the BCS is a joke of a schedule combined with who they are.

check it out:

2009 Notre Dame Schedule (one ranked opponent)

9/05 Nevada
9/12 @ Michigan
9/19 Michigan State
9/26 @ Purdue
10/03 Washington
10/17 No. 4 USC
10/24 Boston College
10/31 Washington State
11/07 Navy
11/14 @ Pittsburgh
11/21 Connecticut
11/28 @ Stanford

I'm not convinced that they're better then most of the teams on that schedule. I say 9-3, with losses coming from Michigan State, USC(west) and Pitt. Hell, BC-even though they're held together with some glue, a ball of tape and many catholic prayers- could beat them too. It's amazing to me though, ND has 8 home games this season.

Still, they'll get invited to a BCS game, where the token MAC/WAC/non-BCS undefeated team will take them to the woodshed.

That schedule is pathetic and embarassing, but they still lose atleast 3 games.

Right, I do not think some who have commented are distinguishing clearly between making the BCS title game vs being selected for a BCS bowl game... They could feasibly lose 3 and still make a BCS bowl game (and get throttled), which is total BS with that schedule.

They ain't beating USCw... so a one loss USC team has to go to the title game over them or the system is complete crap. Oh wait....

This is how I hope their schedule goes down:

9/05 Nevada W
9/12 @ Michigan L
9/19 Michigan State L
9/26 @ Purdue W
10/03 Washington W
10/17 No. 4 USC L
10/24 Boston College L
10/31 Washington State W
11/07 Navy L
11/14 @ Pittsburgh L
11/21 Connecticut W
11/28 @ Stanford W

6-6.

More than likely though it will be 8-4 or 9-3. With a definite loss to USC. Probable loss to one of Michigan State/Michigan and Probable loss to one of Navy/Pitt. I don't really think BC will win, but since they are ACC I'd like it if they could beat em.

Navy is their second toughest game this year and they've beaten Navy 95% of the games played in the last 50 years.
