On top of that he said that if you don't bash Gailey's recruits than you must like Gailey as a Coach. He called a bunch of people flip floppers for not supporting him bashing 17 year old kids. He even went so far as to call SLJ a racist because SLJ was supporting this recruit (who beebad pointed out was White)for no apparent reason other than to deflect some of the heat he was getting for busting on a 17 year old. Pathetic.

I don't think Gailey is a good coach, as well as several others but at least we have the common sense and the decency not to rail on a recruit, especially this early in the process.

When beebad was getting cremated by the majority of his own board, he locked down the threads and issued an ultimatum that we are no longer allowed to speak of the subject. When we did anyway, he kicked many of us off. So much for cultivating debate on his board. My way or the Highway revisted.

GEETEELEE: I took offense at Beebad's sarcastic remarks regarding Joesph Gilbert, but not because he hails from my backyard.

Several things pissed me off about his original post and the ones that followed......

Gilbert is a recruit who has yet to be rated. To date, in Scout.com's database only 17 offensive linemen are rated NATIONWIDE.

Any Tech fan should want to give the new recruiting coordinator Giff Smith and all the new coaches a chance to get out there and RECRUIT before bashing their efforts......you have to hope that they are better talent evaluaters and salesmen in comparison to what we have had in the recent past.

Any Tech fan should give the new athlectic director, Dan Radakovich a chance to make an impact as well. He did tell me in a email that he will be opening a dialogue with 'the Hill' to deal with problems associated with offering and the admittance of football players. He told me that and I have no reason to believe that he won't.

Beebad and other BuzzOFFers have had the same opportunity to email RADS and I don't think any of them besides Old Fogy have taken advantage of it. Their loss.

Regardless of who the head coach is....any 17 year old high school athlete who is offered a chance to study and play football at Georgia Tech and accepts the challenge should be commended in public, not ridiculed by a supposedly pro Tech board.

You can't have a 'He has to prove to me he can play stance'. You have to assume every athlete offered can play football at this level. Most of us Tech fans have always believed there is enough football players out there who can handle the classwork at Tech....now as soon as the new recruiting coordinator and recruiters get their first success a Tech fan/moderator wants to rip the effort.....WTF.

Note to BuzzOFFers, especially CE Jacket and other friends. I have been banned, along with Techfan45, and BarrelO'Rum. What was Techfan's crime? Telling the Georgia Tech coaching staff about a football player who might be able to help us....

Barrel's? He and I had posts deleted by Beebad before they even made it to the public forum! How else was he to communicate except through stingtalk, just as I am addressing you now.

To posters like 3518techie, Bunger Henry, CE Jacket Y'all not standing up for my stance is one thing. But to allow Beebad and MSTA to play the race card without a peep is very disappointing.

Have I became a fan of Chan Gailey? No! Do I see improvement in the offense in '06? No! Do I foresee a better record in '06? No. Do I agree with Gailey getting a 5 year extention? No!

Would I have fired Chan Gailey? Last week, this week, and next week.

But I can understand that Dan Radakovich will have to see for himself......but that is a whole different subject.

Right now the subject is recruiting and we need to give the benefit of the doubt that our new recruiting coordinator, the new recruiters, and the athlectic director will make a huge difference for the future. And I support giving them that chance.

GEETEELEE: I am from up the way of Cartersville.....just north of there. Calhoun is where I was born. As for Chan Gailey himself.....he has had his chances.

But the future is in the hands of the recruiters and we have several new ones as well as a new recruiting coordinator and athlectic director. If we aren't going to support giving them a chance to make a difference then we fans shouldn't have supported their hirings in the first place.

stateline, have to say I agree with you 100% in this post. Anyone who is 1) too stupid to realize how early in the game it is and that very few players have been rated yet, and 2) would stoop to ridiculing a kid who has commited to Tech WHEN I GUARANTEE YOU THOSE FOOLS HAVE NO IDEA WHO HE IS OR WHETHER HE CAN PLAY, I don't want to claim as Tech fans. Say what you will about coaches, but that's lower than low.

I know what you think of Gailey and I can't say I completely disagree with you. However, we were in a situation where something had to be done with his contract and to Braine's credit (for once) he didn't want to make a decision given the fact that he knew he was leaving. At that point you either fire him or extend. If he fired him and hired a new coach the new guy would have had his hands tied for some time. This way, Chan can still recruit and the new AD could make up his own mind. It's much different firing a coach who is in his extension period and firing someone who's only been on the job 1 year.

Chan has to impress his new boss now, not the man who hired him. We'll see what he can do.

ncjacket: There is a running back up here at Calhoun High School named Adam Urbano who can flat out play. 1st team All-State as a sophmore. Now Urbano will be a JUNIOR next year but I bet he is already getting a lot of looks. And letters. If the number of recruiters and scouts at Calhoun's playoof games last year is an indication. And yet I'll bet he isn't in Scouts data base and if he was he wouldn't have but one star.

It's too early to be thinking of ratings. Tech has got a new recruiting coordinator, new recruiters, and a new athlectic director. So there is new hope for recruiting, but you have to give them a chance. I think Joesph Gilbert is just the first dividend of our new investment.

Hopefully we have made some inroads up here with Gilbert and Barnes both choosing Tech. We are definitely in UGAg country. Urbano strikes me as a Kelly Rhino type player - not that big, about 185 or so - but a dependable workhorse. Calhoun is very well coached down to the recreation leagues. I know our undefeated (1 tie) rec team played them at AHS.

I think it was 38-0 or so Calhoun when I finally left in the third. Multiple formations, men in motion, misdirection etc.....not to shabby for 10-12 or so Y.O. kids. Cupboard is pretty full for Calhoun for many years to come - unless I win the lottery and start doing some of "Dalton"esque (old days) recruitin'.

I just think we should contact every kid in GA that can play SLJ. We may not be able to offer them all due to grades, etc., but we need to develop relationships at their HSs and we need to get kids talking about our staff and Tech. Even if they can't come, or decide to go elsewhere, if they are positive about us it can only help with others from their school or area. Kids talk and if you're considered cool that's half the battle.

JJacket: Hopefully Urbano will study hard enough to be able for Tech to consider him. I'll say this....the Kelly Rhino comparison is a compliment BUT Urbano is a legit 4.4 40 guy who follows his blockers better than any high school back that I have ever seen. Rhino was what....5'-7"? Urano is a little taller 5'-9" or 5'-10" AS A SOPHMORE so hopefully he'll end up at at least 5'-11".

2 more quick points: His fundementals as a running back are super rare. He protects the ball like he carrying a suitcase with a million dollars in it.....with both arms around the ball at all possible times and Calhoun does a great job of utilizing him as a pass receiver. He has very good hands and gets downfield very quickly and he doesn't drop passes.

Y'all just got to see him.

I'm in Europe now and don't have much opportunity to read much less post. Where as I don't agree with all the posts on BO/ST/Hive, I think there was a better way for you to post to BBad. I did think however that CCG has filled his quota of 1 star recruit. The guy may end up as another great recruit, at this point you, nor I, nor anyone can say if he's good for Tech or bad.

I, like all true Techfans have a wait and see attitude with the new AD, Coaches, and Players. I for one hope that everything turns out good, whats good for CCG is good for Tech. Now in retrospect we all know what CCG has done and I see no reason to think much will change with him. As for CCG.com I think the reason we have seen it's demise is due to the fact that he probably had many anti CCG messages. Maybe so maybe not but for some reason that site is down.

I did not know that you and others were banned from BO and for that I wish it had not happened. I have in the past enjoyed speaking and posting to you. I hope to post to you in the future.

Then you have to seriously question either the loyalty, intelligence, or the mental stability of Beebad and MsTechAnalysis(Black Prix)...or a combination of all three.

Joesph Gilbert is not a '1 star recruit', but from all indications a solid prospect who just happens to not have been rated yet by the scouting combines....hardly a crime in April.

Beebad and MSTA are buffoons.....blowhards with nothing intelligible to speak about. Nothing short of accusing me of being a racist opened my eyes to this.

Give it a rest SLJ. No matter how many times you say it some people just can't understand that there is no such thing as a 1-star recruit. 1-star just means the kids hasn't been rated yet. EVERY recruit is a 1-star at some point.

Your little snipe at me is just another of your disability to use logic or reason. I will be returning to America and stop off to help you with reading if you like. There is an old saying that if you can't dazzel with brilliance then baffel with BS. Sorry about the spelling and bad typing but I'm not use to the key boards here in Europe.
