BeeWare and I are going to play a little game. All of the other readers and posters on Stingtalk can ignore this post.

It is going to be my standard reply to BeeWare's standard post. I will just enter it each time on a one-for-one basis for his standard post.

I reserve the right to add to the post as required to keep up with his standard post. BeeWare! Are you ready?

01. Braine did not fire O’Leary. O’Leary quit Tech.

02. Braine had only one task, hire a new coach. Braine had two choices for the final pick. His choice was to use the two resumes to pick between Mac or Gailey. It is obvious 99.99999999999% of the population would have chosen Gailey

03. It was Gailey’s choice to pick the remaining coaches. Gailey was a yes-man to Braine for picking O’Brien and Roof. Gailey picked the remaining coaches on his own intuition

04. O’Leary’s record against UGA without Ralph (0-4). O’Leary’s record against UGA with Ralph (3-1).

05. O’Leary’s total record without Ralph 18-19. O’Leary’s total record with Ralph 34-14.

06. O’Leary’s seasons at Tech (7 1/3).

07. Bowls received without Ralph (1).

08. Bowls received with Ralph (4).

09. Bowl record with Ralph (2-1).

10. Bowl record without Ralph (0-1).

11. Season prior to Ralph’s addition (5-6 lost last four games of season). Next season with Ralph, O’Leary was 7-5 with a bowl win).

12. First game after Ralph’s departure (loss to LSU in bowl).

13. First season after Ralph’s departure (7-5 and then quit Tech before bowl game, 2001).

14. O’Brien’s only season as OC (8-5, 2001 with Godsey at QB).

15. Tech’s deepest and most talented team (2001, every player from the 2002 team plus Kelly Campbell, Joe Burns, Sean Gregory, David Schmidgall, Jason Kimble, Russell Matvay, George Godsey, and Nick Rogers was on the 2001 team.

I hope I'm not as monomaniacal as Beeware, but I've got to repeat myself on the subject of Friedgen's impact on GOL's success, RF is a great coach, no doubt about it, BUT: GOL's poor seasons before RF arrived are mostly due to the players left by BL. RF began winning with players recruited by GOL's staff before he,RF, got here. And last year's W-L record was not because the offense did not perform. BOB did just fine on his own.

But in response to that I want to see where Fridge is 5 years from now.

I am not convinced that he will maintain his success.

My prediction is that MD will do no better than 4th in the ACC this year.

Actually, I'd say the offense did okay last year. They ran up some impressive stats, scored a lot, but weren't as effective as we've come to expect in the red zone. Personally I blame that on Big O. I am among those who think he held BOB back. Before Beeware climbs on I liked Big Bee and credit him with getting the program put back together. I just think that w/o Ralph his conservative nature came through and BOB wasn't able to convince him otherwise. I'm hoping that Chan will give him full rein this year so we can see what he really has.

ahso,
You outdid yourself this time; but I have to take points away because you did not warn the readers to wear their hip-waders. It would have been easy to step in that horsesh!t.
I have heard Ralph Friedgen's comments about George O'leary many times. Ralph thinks George is an outstanding coach. I believe Ralph over your horsesh!t; but I give you credit...it was almost as good as your right-wing-one-world-government-horseh!t.
If you keep it up we shall have to name you ahso the horsesh!t shoveling, one world government man.

In 'Buck' We Trust

Ralph Friedgen and George Oleary are best friends. What do you think he's going to say? I have personally heard many go things about Chan Gailey from people that worked with him and they say he's the man to take GT to the next level and I believe them over you.George Oleary record and facts speak for it self with ralph good without ralph well lets just say the same things your saying about gailey.By the way who made you the expert on picking coaches anyway?

BeeWare, thanks for the well-wishes on my upcoming move.

Also, since I made the first post on this subject at this time, you get one "get out of jail free" card.

Pulling this back to the top for BeeWare to read again. BeeWare, note O'Leary was 0-4 against UGA without Friegden.

B-ware is busy Ahso, because he is mapping out his route to have "Buck" at BDSGF for the Vandy game. He might even escort Dave Braine too. He has bought his gold glasses and has his lips puckered to kiss "Buck's " resume.

I believe that the big O did a good job in getting Tech back on tract and as long as Ralph was here he handled himself quite well but with him gone he became a Donnan type personality who had younger coaches to bully around and his prideful hands on intemidating way of doing things caused an unstable enviornment that resulted in poor purformance by the whole organisation last year. So yes Ralph helped not only as a coach but as a stablizing force that held things together and things fell apart when he left. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

;)Ya'll through with smooching BW? Facts are: O'Leary does his job & does it very well. Thank U, George. Coach O'L chose to move to another job. Friedgen does his job & does it very well. Thank U, Ralph. Coach F chose to move to another job. Gailey does his job & does it very well. Thank U, Chan. Coach CG chose to come to Ga Tech & be our HC.
Every move Coach G has made so far has worked out & he's doing a fine job for us. At every meeting the people love him. Kept a very good OC to give us some continuity. Hired a very well respected DC which seems to have upped the D. STROKE of ABSOLUTE GENIUS to move Hollings to RB. Just the right mix in the 'newcomers' QB battle to push both to up their game. Seems to really get along with the AD. Recruiting class was better than anyone thought. The walk-ons are much better than expected (a scout team QB, very good WR, Wallace is certainly worth a look, surprising LB, etc).
Chan Gailey looks to be the Coach that could, should & may very well surpass the fabulous work that O'L & Fridge did for us. Impeccable personal, work & success reputation. I'm very pleased so far. The Gailey era is here, the O'Leary & Fridgen eras are gone. Say bye, bye, now.

GT Ace you are a silver-tongued devil, bet you don't go home alone very often, do you?
