Bennett to transfer

I think the article implied he would. See you Taylor, good luck where ever you land.

It's much better for

Sr Taylor Bennett to get his GT degree in 'International Affairs' & move on to a passing school:rockon:. I'd go 1-aa if I were him, i.e. Gateway Conference, & try to start as a rSr. To me, it's a no-brainer. Why knock yourself out in Coach Johnson's system when u ain't got a snowball's chance?
Kyle Manley will graduate at the end of Spring semester & will hang up his cleats:biggthumpup:.
Ga Tech is down to 'now scholarshipped' rSr Calvin Booker:D, So Josh Nesbitt & the 2 Frosh entering this Summer, Jaybo Shaw & Tevin Washington. Only 2 'shipped players for Spring:wow:

P.S. There's 2 rFr walkons from last Fall, Bryce Dykes & Jim Henry, but couldn't tell u if they can run a option offense.

Jim Henry led Hawkinsville HS to multiple state championships just down the road from me, and dominated my HS team a few times when we were both still in HS.

Cant remember for the life of me what style they ran though

I understand as an athlete why he would want to start one more year, but why would a school want to bring him in for just one year?

I'm thinking if I were him I'd stick it out here and get a good start on a nice GT MBA...

T. Bennett is a class act ! If he can play somewhere else I don't blame him. Wishing him nothing but the best!
Although if he doesn't have a good chance of starting somewhere I would stay and support my team and friends.

Tough call.

Is there a Div II school who's mascot is Tinkie Winkie?

If so, he's a shoe in.

Your right coit, his best chance of playing some at least in most games would be here at the flats. It's not like he going to be going pro anyway. Finish it here, but good luck to him if he decides to go to another school.

with only one year of eligibility left, why even bother? Who wants him anyway? Me thinks he should go AA.

Is he actually transferring to play football, or to go to grad school somewhere else?

Whatever; best of luck to him.

Calvin Johnson and Tashard Choice had enough innate ability to overcome years of abysmal coaching and preparation. Taylor Bennett did not. In a way I feel for him, laboring behind Reggie (who we now know was not the total problem) schooled by Nix, Bond, and Gailey. It could not have been much fun to use up your only college career that way. As the years go by, he'll have the Gator Bowl game to help him forget the 2007 debacle.

Our running backs got outstanding coaching, IMO. I don't think Daniels or Choice have anything to complain about.

And I am on record that our receiver coaching was piss poor under Geis. QB development under Gailey isn't even worth review.

I love Taylor's grit but let's be honest. He had two offers, us and Boise St. Maybe he would have fared better there, but he may also have sat the bench his whole career. He did get a chance to start for a major college team so he got his shot at the big time. If he now wants to go elsewhere to play another year, that's his choice obviously. I would hope he does get his degree first, and then has fun somewhere for his final year of football.
