Best coach in the south?

If Oldfaggy can give me one example of how he is not mediocre I'll be shocked.

I know he drives a mediocre car for one.

How can someone so brilliant with such a pervasive philosophy of not accepting mediocrity be so mediocre? If simply not accepting medicrity works so well, what happened to him?

And to answer the question...

Richt is not top, but he is the best they've had in a long time. I'll take Spurrier as the best and you will see that I am right when he starts winning more than half against Richty very soon.

Despite losing to GT twice and our 'bottom 10' coach, hasnt Auburn under Tuberville been as impressive as UGA under Richt? And Tuberville also won at a have-not to boot.

Mediocre car I guess an Old Alero with everything that you can get on it is mediocre. Since you are such a judge on my mediocrity tell me about me. I was when working before retirement worked on the Polaris, the Poseidon, and Apollo Saturn V, was a CRE, if you know what that means, Component Responsible Eng. Was named to the stars of ****** so tell me about mediocre.

Did you LEAD those projects? Any one of them? Working on the space program, in and of itself, hardly makes you exceptional. Shouldn't you have risen to the top? Why didn't you?

And isn't an Alero at the bottom of the Old's line? How old is that beater?

To answer your question yes but we didn't call them team leaders or what ever we just called them like Sr. Eng. No I didn't lead every program I was on but lets hear how you have made pres and CEO of your company. My Olds a 2004 top of the line at $27K you can call it mediocre but at least it's not a Ford Taurus. Beside you said you knew what kind of car I drove so I guess you kinda didn't know now did you know it all! So know it all tell me how far I did get and I'll tell the truth unlike you when you said you knew the car I drive! I do have the 2nd biggest houes in the neighborhood not the 1st, but still one of the nicest, so lets hear about your house and you becoming CEO and the car you drive. My god your life must be pretty dull to picking on a guys car and position in life but I'll say this I'll compare my life to yours any day. Now enought of your crap again you must be pretty dull!

This conversation has now evolved into "classic trailer park".
OF, you started the whole damned thing with your insults directed at a sales professional.

The projects you worked on sound pretty impressive I guess, but I am more impressed with the person or people that pushed those projects thru. I realize that taxpayers pay for government work, but somebody had to say "YES" before the first pencil was ever sharpened.
I know it will never change, but so many people that are technical worker bees never realize that without someone selling a product or concept, there is no work period.

The comeback to you was very weak.

The most successful man I ever knew drove a 10 year old pickup, and wore slacks and a golf shirt when most of the wanna-be asskissers dressed to impress. Needless to say, he has some self confidence.

This is all very stoopid! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbdn.gif

I now believe in reincarnation.

No one could have built up that much bitterness in a single lifetime.

As craggy as old foggy is, I think this point is out of bounds. If you believe that you can judge a man by what he drives you are a sucker for the auto makers' ad programs.

An auto is a depreciable asset, so the wise man drives the vehicle with the lowest lifecycle cost that meets his needs. The guys who drive status cars are the chumps in my book. I love the current VW Passat commercial about "lowest ego emissions".

Ding Dong, we have a winner! Foggy you should know since yours truly is the one who called me a 'nothing' and a 'wannabee'and not smart enough for Tech. GT Crew hit it right on the buttom about you.

RW, I think you are not replying to my thought. If you were, you didn't understand what I was saying.

I traded in my Yukon and Cadillac for two Hyundais a few years back. I get the deal on cars and other "penis enlargement" items.

(Of course my enhancement surgery was a roaring success!)
Just kidding. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif

Old Foggy

Ole Old Foggy. One of the most beloved Stingtalk fonts of all time (even though he couldn't spell 'Ole Fogey' correctly).

We love him in spite of his vitriol. The "Buzzdip" doo-doo not withstanding I would gladly welcome a TECH man back to this board unequivocably without time lost charged.

The anti-tech arguments are insane, of course, but I sense a renewed current of Yellow Jacket fraternity and excitement coming on that will belie even our hottest sentiments.

We face (whether you 'LIKE' it or not) the most critical season since CCG has had the reins in his hands. It is time for BBBBullshitBBB to die and for ALL our Tech brothers to rally.

Good critical argument. Nobody but Georgia Tech.

Re: Old Foggy

If I have ever met Foggy, I don't know that I have. So,..my comments are entirely neutral about the man.

What I do know is that while this board is an incredible place for the discussion of Tech athletics and other topics with Tech fans, one needs to understand how their words when printed can have near disastrous effects.

Before these internet boards came to be, Tech fans would say whatever they wanted among their friends and wouldn't be judged nearly as harshly as they can be on the internet.
In a much smaller way of course, people that post here become "public" figures. While we are all for the greater good of Tech athletics, it is important to not rattle on like you would with your buddies over a pitcher of beer.

Finishing up here, I would bet anyone 2 dogs from the V that I would get along with Foggy famously one on one. I have no doubt that he is Tech thru and thru. That he has problems with the current head coach does not bother me one iota.

I think he sometimes just gets frustrated when others don't agree with him readily. I can understand that too.
Give 'em Hell Foggy, but please try to relax.

1985 GT Black, 93,000 miles, excellent shape - Ebay purchase $1,300. (my new gameday car - GT, get it?). Front hood ornament is cruddy so I will affix or get a good looking GT (us) emblem for it.

1987 Sports Coupe Burgundy(4 cylinder), 75,000 miles, excellent shape again Ebay $1,600 - for my son (quiet, he doesn't know about it yet).

When the 2.8 V6 dies, will do a 3.4 V6, 3.8 V6 or 4.9 V8 conversion on the GT, and yes they all fit. The beauty of a Fiero is that it is simply a front wheel drive GM unit moved mid engine, almost any front drive GM fits nicely.

Just do your homework before buying a car on Ebay.

WAAAAYYYY off topic, but this one was getting ugly anyway.

you give mark richt the normal level of talent the average coach gets and he would be an "average" coach. However ,he would be an above average parole officer.

LOL

So you were arguably above average but not tops. A component team leader is not exactly CEO, LOL!

Were you tops in ANYTHING? You come on here saying the end-all-be-all secret to division 1 football is not accepting mediocrity. Why didn't this work for you?

Maybe I just don't get it. Rght now your entire 'accepting mediocrity' broken record mantra seems like hypocrasy of the highest level. Feel free to force it down 'reasonable' fan's throats but don't hold yourself to the same standard.

Pw, I wasn't really replying to you. You made the same point earlier in the thread and I was just piling on.

BTW, can you slip me the address and phone number for that surgeon of yours. Oh hell, never mind, I don't know how I would ever inflate the damn thing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crybaby.gif
