Best news I've seen all day

...2009 is shaping up to be another season full of schadenfreude for me.

LOL

Me too. Most of mine will be focused on the cow town of Athens GA where the stafford-and-moreno-less mutts will struggle and the fans will whine all year.

"Though this past season fell short of the expectations that all of us have for our football program, ..." athletic director Jack Swarbrick said in a statement released by the university Wednesday.

Understatement of the season.

"Last season's triple-overtime loss to Navy ended an NCAA-record 43-game winning streak over the Midshipmen..."

Yet another great chapter in the history of CPJ

Charlie Weis looks like he ate a pregnant wildebeest.

HDTV is good to watch football on, but closeups of Ralph should be banned in high-def.

Now this is a sexy walk:

The sad thing is, being Notre Dame, they will still probably get a bowl invite. On the other hand, at least that gives them a chance to finish under .500.
Check out this bowl-eligibility resume:

Wins versus:
San Diego State : 1-7 in Mount. West/2-10 overall
Michigan : 2-6 in Big 10/3-9 overall
Purdue : 2-6 in Big 10/4-8 overall
Stanford : 4-5 in Pac-10/5-7 overall
Washington : 0-8 in Pac-10/0-11 overall
Navy : 7-4 overall

When the obvious highlight in your season is beating a service academy team with a new coach, you know you've got problems!

Damn, I didn't realize their season was that bad. That long, massive contract has to go down as one of the worst moves by any AD in history.

There weak schedule is why people predicted they would win about 9 (or if you are Dr. Lou, mind the spit) 11 or 12. They were suppossed to win all those, plus beat up on Pitt, 'Cuse, and UNC/BC/MSU.

ND should be firing their AD for making it so they can't fire their coach. What a moron.

That San Diego game was terrible too. ND needed a fumble on the goal line to turn it around. They were trailing in the 4th. But that program is moving in the right direction...
