6 in the top 25. Do you think the Big 12 is stronger than the SEC this year?

Last week, the SEC had 4 teams in the top 10. The Big 12 will cannibalize themselves as well. I don't think this points to them necessarily being better then the great and mighty SEC.

Yeah, they're gonna start playing each other in the next two weeks. If I remember correctly, Texas Tech/Mizzou is the same weekend of the Red River Shootout, or if not, a week apart. So, at least two of those teams will fall out.

No. We need to take a breath and wait 'til they play each other before making these grand pronouncements? Same with us. We'll have 3-4 teams in the top 25 at season's end, same as the Big 12. The SEC will have 4-5. Just about where it should be, except the SEC teams will be a bit over rated and the ACC will be a bit underrated.

The Big 12 has a lot of teams ranked highly at this point in the season because of the way they structure their OOC scheduling. They don't play any conference games until last weekend, so they have a higher ratio of unbeatens at week 4. It's a schedule thing.

the big 12 is good, the sec is good, the pac 10 is ok, the acc is ok, and the big 10(+1) is terrible as is the big east... other then that, we need to let things pan out...

however think of it like this... who would rather GT play?

missouri, texas tech, and texas, kansas

or LSU, Georgia, Florida, auburn?

It's an easy answer for me... i think SEC is still considerably stronger..

Any good southerner knows that the SEC is the greatest conference ever. Take that Bama/UGA game. It PROVES that the SEC is the best. What a game! Bama (SEC school) dominated! And how about that Tennessee/UCLA game earlier. UCLA came out there and looked AWESOME! It's because EVERYONE gets up to play the SEC because the SEC is the best conference. How else do you explain how UCLA got beaten 783-0 by Brigham Young? It's because Tennessee, even in a loss, really "beat up on" UCLA so bad that the Bruins couldn't score on the Mormons. Plus, UCLA wasn't up for the game because it was not versus an SEC team. Still not convinced? Vanderbilt is undefeated and nationally ranked. This also proves how great the SEC is. Their worst team is undefeated and nationally ranked. Mississippi State vs. Georgia Tech also proves how great the SEC is. Georgia Tech used to be in the SEC, and Miss. St. knew that, and so they got really fired up, and overemotional about it, because they knew it was like a conference game, and those conference games in the SEC are tough, and everyone beats up on everyone else, because that's how tough the SEC is. Don't even get me started on the Ole Miss/UF game. If that doesn't convince you that the SEC is dominant, I don't know what will.

I would rather face any of the SEC offenses than those of the top 4 Big 12 teams. Defenses are probably a different story, but I think our O could handle any defense anyway.

According to Sagarin, the top 6 rated teams' SOS from the SEC, B12 and ACC.

Big 12 SOS:
Oklahoma (4-0) - 78
Texas - (4-0) 115
Texas Tech (4-0) - 129
OSU (4-0) - 120
Missouri (4-0) - 142
Nebraska (3-1) - 80

SEC SOS:
Alabama (5-0) - 39
LSU (4-0) - 114
UGAG (4-1) - 29
UF (3-1) - 46
Vandy (4-0) - 35
UK (4-0) - 155

ACC SOS:
GA Tech (3-1) - 21
VA Tech (4-1) - 9
Wake (3-1) - 16
UNC (3-1) - 26
FSU (3-1) - 133
Duke (3-1) - 64

It's clear who's playing the toughest competition earlyon.

All we needed was for Wake (who beat Ole Miss) to beat Navy and the ACC would have moved up another notch. They didn't, the ACC sucks again.

Any SEC fan will tell you, the only reason that Wake was able to beat Ole Miss is that SEC teams don't take ACC teams seriously. Ole Miss treated that game like practice. They didn't want to show too much before their big Florida game in the SEC. That game, of course, proves how great the SEC is because Florida, a top five team, was beaten by a lower-tier SEC team, proving that Ole Miss is better than 115 teams in the country, despite being only the 10th best team in the SEC! The SEC is so dominant, it makes my brain hurt!
