Let us not forget the issues that came to our program during the Gailey era. We divided it into offense versus defense, Tenuta vs. Nix and CPJ came in and that was the first thing that he had to repair.

They are a team. They win as a team and lose as a team.

I certainly understand being critical of the D the last few weeks but keep it in perspective. I don't care if we win high scoring or low scoring games. As a matter of fact you have to be able to win both.

Remember the MNC of 1990. We won a shoot out at UVA (41-38) and a Defensive struggle at home vs VT (6-3). "Just win"

The difference is that there was a coaching staff that allowed that sort of division and probably caused it with their starkly different personalities and methods.

Paul Johnson simply will not allow that.

and tied UNC... you're right about supporting both units as a team, and though the defense sucks, the offense rocks, and it doesn't give us a great team offensively and a poor team defensively, it averages out to a good team.

But its hard to criticize games without calling out one unit/player in football. I do like that CPJ is trying to get everyone accountable. My football coach used to tell us that if we lost a game, it was both because the defense didn't stop the other team from scoring and the offense didn't score more.

But you've got to admit... defense reeks...

The difference is that Gailey didn't have the personality to stand up to Tenuta, even if he wanted to. Somehow I don't see that as a problem with PJ and Wommack.

Agree that CPJ will not let this happen in the long term but I don't ever want these thoughts creeping in the players heads and some of these players lived through that situation.

I'm just saying that you can not always seperate the two. Having 1 and 2 play scoring drives affects the D. Not only by them getting tired but also having time to make adjustments. What the O does effects the D and that works both ways.

I wouldnt see that as a problem with PJ and Godzilla
