Bilbo 4th and 1 - Story from AJC

This may or may not be true. (Consider the source.) Either way it gives a different view of the stupid play called by the coaches.

Bilbo was supposed to throw a short pass to wide receiver Lekeldrick Bridges. A mixup sent Bridges deeper than the intended route, Fresno took over at the Tech 28, and Davis busted through for the clinching touchdown on second down.

Based on Bilbo's reaction after the play, I would say that it was true.

After the play Bilbo seemed to indicate to Bridges that he was in the wrong place.

correct, it looked like a simple hitch designed to get 2-3 yards. It did look low however.
