I recall a interview before the falcons ben-gals game where Mike Vick said that at Va Tech Coach Beamer had him run a offence of 10 plays-5 runs and 5 passes. My problem with the coaching staff is why cant they allow Bilbo to run the same type of offence? It work for Vick and it could work with Bilbo. This is my first post but as a life long Jackets fan I have seen no other QB energize the offence instantly as Bilbo.(with the obvious exception of Joe Hamilton). He has the weapons around him to do the job. Gailey and O'brien need to drop their excuses and gameplan with Bilbo at the helm and throw all this caution out the window.I believe the team would get behind their QB and the results could be very exciting.

I think you are right. We do have a QB problem. Bilbo may not fix the offense, but he should be given the chance. When something is not working, you make a change. The QB seems to be the weak point in the offense.
The O & D line play seems to be going alright. The line-backers are doing alright. The defensive backs are not getting the job done. Everyone has completed short passes in front of them. They seem to do better on long coverage. It appears that they are only trying to limit the amount of yards gained on a pass. Can someone in the know please tell me if the defensive backs coach is the same as last year? We seem to have had the same problem last year.
The special teams play is getting better, but it had only one way to go - up.
Lastly, we do have a problem on offensive play calling. When I can call almost every 2nd and 3rd down play, I know any half-assed opponent can do it much better.

It's not the same DB coach as last year. Coach Modkins is the DB coach.

IMO, the DB play has been much better this year than in years past as a hole. I think they can play much better against the run than they did against Wake. In my opinion we played way too much zone against Wake. We seemed to be scheming to not give up the big plays, while making them execute underneath. Boy did Wake ever execute. It's easy to be critical now. Tipically, defenses aren't going to be able to scheme to stop everything if a team is able to pass and run the ball effectively like Wake obviously can. What schemes try to do is minimize and make a team execute and beat you which Wake did. One of the keys is usually pressure. When we got pressure forcing quick throws, we were successful.

The D stoped them in the red zone several times. They made them go for in on 4th and 2 which was a disastrous TD. That's the one play on D I wish we had back. Bet the players and coaches do as well. After we had the fumbled snap, the D got the ball right back for us.
