He is the man for the times. We need his persona for about 5-7 years as AD. The man would be a huge boost to recruiting if he got involved.

Wanted to start another thread, but there have been enough for now.

However, are there any amongst us that don't believe that blowing up the bunker of GT sports is in order, right now?

My biggest pro for Bill Curry is that he will actually cry and mean it when talking about his love and passion for this incredibly difficult but wonderfully rewarding place called Ga. Tech.
I am so worried that his resume will be the guide for people that look down on what Curry would bring us. That is, his heartfelt ability to resell Ga. Tech to the masses and to the great kids we want in our football program.

As with many in the so called professions, it is simply beneath them to consider hanging a shingle. I fear that many Tech blue bloods consider selling Tech as a form of huckstering (if that is a word).
These folks that think Tech will be just fine by administrating what comes their way still don't get it.

We need someone that blows the hatch off the GTAA bunker, and wants to get close to those that could be the next new group of lifelong Tech people.

I support Bill Curry.

I like your "BBB" idea a lot better than the "FOB" (friends of Bill) that I was kind of expecting to see come up.

I concur. I think he's the best man to put a face on the program and take it forward. I think we need an AD that is going to sell this program and I really think he can take us forward in that regard. We really need to get the Atlanta community around this program. UGA's got all the country necks. We need to tap into the millions of folks living in this city.

Yep, I'm in with the BBB crowd. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif

That's a very good thought. Plus, trying to convert college football fans is a waste of time and money.
We need to grab the undecideds and pull back those that have lost hope or interest. We need to see GT diapers on babies, not just on old folks.

I've actually just moved back downtown in the last few months and I'm really looking forward to cooking out in my backyard and taking a $10-15 cab ride down to the game. There is really no reason that these games shouldn't be sold out. I think I may post a thread about why we don't sell out. I actually believe that all the TV exposure keeps many of our fans from attending games(as evidenced by braves attendance which I contribute to TBS and FSS). Atlanta is a fairweather city and we're just going to have to start winning more. Do you think if we weren't on ABC as much that we would have better attendance?

Maybe, but only those that don't really care. Football is enough of an event that true fans would have their ass on an aluminum bench or in a chairback at BDS, unless they just couldn't get there.

However, we do have some capacity left to fill and maybe the guy that decides to go to a game instead of playing golf or watch it on TV will turn into the kind of lunatic that roams this place!
