Bobby Ross to resign...

That's a shame. Certainly puts "mediocrity" into perspective.

I too was looking forward to his return to BDS with Army next year. Unfortunate timing.

As far as I know, Bobby Ross is a man of impeccable character and a work record to go with it. It's obvious that he never shunned taking on a challenge in his work but I believe the Army job was just a bit too much challenge for him today.

I wish the best for him in whatever he decides to do from this point on.

Rome, I got inside info that he and the AD didn't meet eye to eye and that made his decision easier. he is in good health but didn't receive the support he thought he should have.

He wasn't going anywhere with Army anyway. He made a good decision.

I don't think wins and losses is even 30% of why anyone would want to coach at Army, if that is what you mean.

I have no reason to doubt what RM said about Bobby and the AD, but three years is close to his average tenure. Maybe everyone gets on Bobby's nerves after a few years.

Whaddayamean? I thought we won that war years ago.
According to W we did, but according to those Camel Humping Raghead terrorists, we haven't.

As much as I like Bobby Ross, his insistence on running a pro-style offense at Army was a huge mistake. Academies need system offenses to make up for the talent gap.

I have to agree with you, but that one game where they out played Texas AM was pretty fun.

p.s. It's kind of funny that Air Force got rid of Fisher Dewberry partly because fans thought that his offense was outdated.

How 'bout Bobby for OC? Pro-style O should work at Tech with RB gone....

Had a similar thought myself for about half a second...but then I remember that he won a NC here in 1990, and it might be awful hard for CCG to work above him if things go less than perfect with fan reaction and all.

You know the fans wouldn't crap on him. That's always a plus, nowdays.

I thought they ran him off because of his racist remarks and religious intolerance.

Bobby's background was defense in the years prior to being a head coach.
Ironically, Bobby's best offensive teams at Maryland, GT, and San Diego were with Ralph Friedgen running the offense...much like the case with O'Leary.
