Boise State's Hard Schedule.

Where 1 game can spell the end to a national championship, especially if you lose to a non-BCS school, schools just are not willing to schedule Boise State. hell, do you think Tech would want to schedule Boise for a home game instead of MTSU? I am betting not.
The retards at VT should not have scheduled this game either. They just killed their fans hopes for the season from the first game..

They can't get 4 good teams to play them. Last year their AD offered to play anyone, anywhere with no return trip, and they didn't get any takers.

They did what they could when they decided to go to the MWC, but then BYU and Utah decided to leave so it looks like they'll largely be in the same situation (except with an annual game against TCU).

If they run the table this year, they'll be riding a 27 game winning streak and be 39-1 since the start of 2008, with the only loss being by 1 point to TCU in a bowl game. If you put up those kinds of numbers, I don't care what your schedule is - you've earned a shot at a title.
When they join the mountain west, if BYU stays, and they play air force/TCU/fresno st./nevada also, then hard out of conference teams, maybe, just maybe, give them a shot. Not this year though.

Errrm. Not to rain on anyone's Boise parade. VT self destructed to the tune of two touchdowns, easily, with penalties in key plays committed in true thug don't-give-a-sh*t fashion. Boise also racked up a stupidiculous penalty yardage.

After the first quarter, Boise was winded and VT manhandled them up and down the field. If Boise state's placekicker hadn't connected from 47 yards (a long ass shot), or Beamer had decided to take the extra point instead of going for two in the third quarter, we'd be celebrating a VT win in OT right now.

I'll STILL take VT against Boise. Reschedule it.

Heh, don't fall for the BSU propaganda they've spread to gain sympathy votes. A deeper look into their "offer" and you find out they also want $1M guaranteed gate, of which no one is willing to pony up. They would have gotten lots and lots of takers had they accepted a normal guarantee the rest of us get for visiting a BCS school. Many ADs said so last year to rebuff this supposed "play anyone, anywhere" offer.

Too tired to look up a reference but I was under the impression that that offer had a pretty big string attached: $$$... So high profile schools would not only have to put alot of National Championship chances on the line but big bucks too... I could see that being a deal breaker.

I am willing to bet that VPI will still be above us in the polls, and will be until they lose again, so this really did not hurt them much. They are in the same boat as last year. Win out and you still have a good chance at the NCG. Only other teams that could say that with 1 loss are UM and FSU in the ACC.

It is their fault,
Don't freaking go schedule Utah St. and Toledo out of conference, give me a freaking break.

They have, as I understand it, tried to schedule dozens of the big boys.

Only thing you can do is win it on the field.

They just beat the ACC frontrunner.

Read above post about the scheduling issue. And because VT has a 10 beside their name on the first week they must be the best in the ACC.

So their offer would be equivalent to giving them a 20,000 ticket allotment of $50 tickets? That doesn't seem too unfair or that much more than what we give visitors normally...considering you're not going to their stadium where it's incredibly difficult to not only beat them but see them and expensive to pay for travel costs...Why can't we do that for 2012?
