BOTH kickers hurt?!?

According to the AJC's around the ACC, both our kickers are injured. "K Luke Manget (groin) questionable, K Dan Burnett (ankle) questionable". Let's assume both are down and out for the game. Anyone know who would do the kicking?
 
We need our best available kicker at this point in the season...period.....IMO - I'd HATE to lose a game or two simply because we want to red-shirt a kicker....Plus Manget could be out weeks with a groin pull

I agree with you. Losing a redshirt year for Jordan should not be the deciding factor. Winning this year should be the deciding factor. We have already burned the redshirt year of several players and it is an absolute tribute to Coach O'leary that we have this kind of depth to reach back for. I would think that Buck would thank Coach O'leary every day for leaving the cupboard full.

Yep, any coach in America would rather come into a situation that is not a complete rebuild. O'leary and his staff did a very good job recruiting the last handful of years and I am thankful for a GT fan.

Know what else? O'leary should be thankful for GT as well--we paid him $1 million+ to do his job.

I was thinking about the depth that we have (I agree, GOL's staff gave us incredible depth - something I appreciate more this year than ever before) on Saturday.....Using a RB that was at least #4 on the depth chart, and wow - was he ever impressive !!!
I'm not sure I have ever seen depth like this at Tech, in all the years I have followed the program...Its amazing to look at the various injuries etc and the young players that are stepping up BIG-TIME...

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">The RS issue isn't really the point. One of the punters should be servicable as a placekicker for the time being. I would expect Manget to be out for the next 2 games (there's a bye week between WFOMOS) so he should be back by UVA. Also, the next 2 games shouldn't be decided by a missed PAT or FG.

It sounds like the depth is getting mighty thin in some places or we would not be having to use the freshmen Chan was able to get stay committed and some who came on because of him. Listen it is evident the big O did a good job recruiting but some of these that are being forced to play were recruited by coach Gailey so lets give some credit to him too.
 
If we need to play Jordan, then by God we should play him. Do you think he wants to redshirt? I'd guess not... If someone is good enough to go pro they won't want to stick around 5 years. And if they're not they and their a decent student they might want to get on with their lives.
 
One more word about O'Leary, und we will have to put the Texas Chainsaw Massacre on BW.

What about the punters? It's not out of the realm of possiblity that they could do it to save Jordan's RS. I'm sure they did the place kicking in high school.
