Bowden may be out at Clemson

Headline:

Clemson fans want Bowden out for underachieving!

Stay tuned tomorrow for our 4 part series on whether the sun will come up.

He was dead as soon as they kicked off against Bama. Clemson fans have been calling for his head for a while, and this season is going to be a colossal failure.

This really was supposed to finally be Clemson's year wasn't it? They sit at 3-2, 1-1 in conference, they have already fallen out of the polls, and they have this schedule in front of them;

@ WF
vs. GT
@BC
@FSU

I see them losing all four, unless papa Bowden lays down for his son --if he's still at Clemson come 11/8.

A lifelong friend of mine is a Clemson grad, season ticket holder, IPTAYer and he's been fed up for three years now. In looking at that schedule --when GT defeats his team at home-- that may very well be it for TB at CU.

You really think they'd fire him not even half-way thru the season?

I just don't see it. I could only see them announcing the O-cordinator is gone.

So if Bowden is canned who will the Orange Farmers take for the new Coach? Hopefully someone who likes to loose.

FWIW this blog stated the biggest story in SC is not the bailout failing but rather Bowden potentially being fired...this should factor in how you weigh these reports from an outlet with such a skewed perspective on life.

Knowing Bowden, similiar to CCG, he will probably get a win against a 5-1 us, which will preserve his mediocre fate w/ Clumpson. He has in the past. Personally I think we will win, but Bowden will somehow attempt to redeem himself as their coach.

I don't think Johnson is the kind of coach who will save anyones job. We'll beat Clemson, but they will beat Wake, BC, FSU, and SC. They won't make the ACCCG because MD will have the tie breaker. They'll go to the Peach Bowl, beat UF and extend Tommy's contract for 20 years.

Then they'll suck next year too.

Bowden is definitely going to be fired by January 1, its just a matter of when.

They could just as easily finish the year with 2 losses. Those players don't suck. Most teams in this conference were salivating over them out of high school. Nobody would be shocked if they finished up without losing. South Carolina is a turd, we can lose any game given enough fumbles, Wake lost to Navy, F$U is pretty dreadful, BC can't score.

Bowden is the sole reason for Clemson's underachievments. Their team is a mirror of his personal stature, demeanor, and overall personality.

I think if Clemson waits until December they can save a $million or so buying out his contract. Of course, there's the risk that he might salvage the season and they have to go through this again next year.

This is the best case scenario for us. I would love for this to happen. Firing Tommy Bowden does as much good for us as firing Chan Gailey did for UGA. Does anyone here really want a large, academically-mediocre school with large recruiting base that we play every year to have a functional, competant coach?

Still, Tommy is a good recruiter and I'd be willing to bet that their next coach is not as good at bringing in stud recruits from FL/GA.

I don't think it will be till season's end. I think will make a gowl game. no reason to negate that revenue. Didn't they just renew his contract?

And when was the last time they had one? We've had their number for a very long time.

Maybe they can trade with UVa. Bowden can get UVa back to Welsh levels and Groh is also an arrogant a** who hasn't accomplished anything in a generation.
