Mark Schlabach:

Wake: Orange Bowl
VT: Chick-Fil-A
FSU: Gator
GT: Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl
Clemson: Humanitarian
BC: Emerald

Bruce Fieldman:

VT: Orange
FSU: Gator
Wake: Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl
Maryland: Humanitarian
Clemson: Eagle Bank Bowl
BC: Meinike Car Care Bowl
GT: Champ Sports Bowl

FSU got the nod over GT in both of those guys predictions. Why does ESPN love them so much? They haven't S*** so far to deserve the Gator Bowl. I would argue that GT has beat more legit teams thus far in more legit fashion (save for the GW game)

I think we could get some more love out there, but in fairness to FSU, they played without quite a few players and still look a whole lot better.

I kind of think car care. I would really like Peach bowl. Hell how about the Super Bowl?

We will discover who's got a better team this year, by direct inspection.

I just feel a Gator bowl in our future for some reason. I'd rather go to the Music City or Champs, to be honest. MC because it's closer, Champs because it's in Orlando.

emerald bowl is so far away....
and humanitarian...
But they're both driving distance for me.

This will be last year that ACC is locked into the Humanitarian. Looks like we're off to a good enough start, that we shouldn't have to settle for it. If we do tank a few games and wind up at Emerald, we could at least get an interesting opponent.

We should boycott any bowl on the west coast that we'd likely qualify for...I think CPJ should send a message we aren't settling for 7-5/8-4 anymore and some crappy bowl.

I think the bowl predictions mean squat right now.

We're only being projected into Bowls we've played in/been considered for in the recent past, when we were a middling school with potential but a mediocre fan base and inconsistent team performance.

With the meat of our schedule finally in our faces, our performance will determine if people think we're worthy of breaking out of those same old bowls.

Relatively unrelated note: according to Sagarin's ratings this week, he projects us finishing the season 9-3 with losses at UNC and UGA.

If we finish 9-3 with wins at Climpson and over FSU, I doubt we're in the Gaylord bowl.

My situation is a double problem, if we get in a good bowl, I will not be able to attend, and if I am able to attend it will not be a good bowl.

Also in regards to our future games, I am more worried about FSU than UNC, FSU has had our number for a long time and vice versa for UNC.

Going to anything on the east coast too! I will never go to SF again. Never been so embarrased.

I hope we don't turn it down, I want to see us play one more game!

I do not have a problem with that, but it ain't gonna happen.

I have to respectfully disagree on both counts - although your memory about this is probably longer. From what I can tell, we've historically played FSU close (the last two times we played were 14-13 on the road, and 21-13 when they were ranked and we were mediocre). We lost both games, and haven't had many wins since the late 90s, but even though that was FSU's heyday, the games were always close.

I also disagree 'cause I was watching when UNC beat us by 3 TDs in 2004, and since we've been 3-0 but outscored them by only 15.

Curious. I presume that on the flip-side there isn't a rule that an offer HAS to be made. I'd hate to snub if it costs us future invites.

Florida State has not beaten a single team with a winning record. They looked bad last night, and they barely managed to hang on against Miami. They're getting the coverage and respect based solely on their laundry. FSU will lose at least two more games this year.
