I know others see this in grasp, but I am PUMPED UP about GT possibly playing in the Orange Bowl. Can anyone else recall GT and Orange bowl in the same sentence. 1990 at least and then B Dodd days are all I recall. We still have a tough battle to accomplish that, but at least some of the media is seeing that we have gotten over our mediocre hump.

1990 was the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. I do think that the last time for the Orange Bowl was with Dodd.

I know, but there was mention of going. The problem as everyone knows was that the ACC champ had already agreed to go to Orlando. I was there and it was great, but I remember many upset about not getting the opportunity to play a top five. My point is that was the last time of even speaking of going to the Orange Bowl.

Sorry, I can't help myself:

These are glorious days. Tech has their whole future in their own hands, only 4 points from being undefeated mid-season. The team looks good, there is talk of a Heisman trophy candidate. There is even more fun talk about future Orange Bowl opponents. Tech is garnering respect nationally, recruiting is looking solid, all is well.

Man, this all sounds familiar to me. I was there with these exact same good tidings going around once. I remember an opponent that we took just a little bit less seriously. I still cheered hard but thinking back maybe not as hard as the "big" games. I mean it's only "Wake Forest or Maryland or something".

I wonder if Joe Hamilton remembers when Tech lost to a "weaker" Wake Forest team and lost the Heisman and a trip to the Orange Bowl in one quick swoop?
