This is an updated bowl projection. If VT wins out, wouldn't they end up in the Gator Bowl? I thought the Gator took the ACC#2 not the Peach Bowl.

Either way, whoever is in the Gator Bowl is going to have to face Texas Tech. Yikes. Whereas the Orange Bowl is a cake walk versus the Cincinatti Bear Cats. Here's hoping for VT to get beat next week.

Oh and by the way, we're in the Gaylords Music City Bowl. Woo hoo!!!

I'll be happy as long as the ACC comes out with a winning bowl record that includes an Orange Bowl win. I think GT, BC, or VT beats Cincinnati if that is who shows up in Miami, and that's good for the conference. Meanwhile we need to get our win in Athens, and Clemson over SC; cause I don't see FSU knocking off UF unless UF just comes out flat looking ahead to Atlanta.

GT in Nashville vs Kentucky is good for me. I'm closer to Nashville than Atlanta, and there would be no reason why GT could not bring a huge crowd to Music City. I'd rather go to the Chicken or Orange Bowls though.

Why would Texas Tech be a lock to the gator bowl? They can take Big 12/Big East/or ND. They took TT last year didn't they? Would they really want them for a return trip?

The Peach is the no. 2 ACC team, the Gator is no. 3. The Peach increased their payout to the ACC a few years ago, so the selection was switched with the Gator. I'm not certain, but I think they use overall conference record in determining the bowl order, so the ACCCG loser is not necessarily the no. 2 ACC team. I could be wrong about that part.

My guess, if we beat UGA and don't make the ACCCG, is that we end up in the Peach (assuming the team will want to go instead of traveling somewhere).

If it's VT-FSU in Tampa and VT wins, FSU may end up here in Atlanta. If FSU wins, the Peach probably wants us more because we'd be "hotter" and VT was just here a couple of years ago. If it's VT-BC in the CG and VT wins, I'm guessing BC gets screwed again in bowls and ends up at the Gator, if not lower. They seems to have the same "don't travel well" knock that we do.

Name a better selection for the Gator Bowl reps? TTech will be the highest rated team they could get. The rest aren't even close.

I think you're mostly correct. I believe the Chicken Bowl gets the number two pick, which can be any bowl eligible team in the ACC. Obviously, they'll look at overall record, momentum at the end of the season, likelihood of drawing a crowd/viewers, etc. I think it comes down to a bunch of guys (which I think includes Leeman Bennett) in a smoke filled room and the associated politics. I don't think were the players would like to go plays any part whatsoever.

In addition to what BOR said, I don't think the Gator will be able to take ND, even if they wanted to. ND isn't beating USC next week, so they'll be 6-6. I believe the agreements the Gator has with the Big 12/Big East have a provision that ND can't be selected if one of the conference teams is two games better than ND. WV, Pitt, UConn, and possibly USF are teams that could get to 8 wins, so even if it's not Texas Tech, one of those Big East teams would get in ahead of ND.

And why would even a second tier Bowl want ND this year, I don't see the ND fan base supporting ND in a bowl after what Charlie Weiss just accomplished. ND should end up in some obscure mid December bowl....potentially with an interim coach.

Music City Bowl. Having lived in Nashville for umpteen years check it out.

Nashville should be nominated for the site of the ACC Championship Game. Nice town. Friendly people. Neutral site. Good facilities. Southern football traditions. Kuntry Music. Accommodations. Good eats and a sensible geographic location.

There's more to that Gator Bowl Big 12 selection.

It's a 4 year deal where the Gator can only take a Big 12 team twice in that period. They've already taken one of those picks last year. They'd be locked in to the Big East for the final two years of the contract.

Also, if more than one Big 12 team is selected to the BCS, the Gator Bowl technically falls behind the Cotton & Holiday Bowls with their selection (although the three bowls are supposed to work out the picks amongst themselves).

If UConn and Pitt both win next weekend, I could see the winner of their 12/6 game going to the Gator at 9-3.

I'm pretty sure the Cotton Bowl will take an 11-1 Texas Tech over a 3 loss Missouri team, especially when you consider that Missouri went to the Cotton last year.
