Box score link for yesterday's game

Pyron and Gibson had almost identical stats. Dare I say it but Gibson did play better than previously and Pyron played some worse. I think that the scheme was to use the quick pass more but that made Pyron lock onto #1 receivers more and throw some quick jerks that hurt his accuracy. IIWII.

The 99 yard pick-6 was a 14 point swing. The other stat, which was very evident in the game, was the punting. Miami averaged 46 yards with a long of 51, Tech 35 yards with a long of 40. Their punter pinned us deep numerous times, which is certainly not where you want to be with a Freshman back-up QB.

GIbson got most of his yards at the end of the game where they were in full prevent defense though -- they were barely trying to apply pressure and they were giving big cushions to our receivers.

It's clear Gibson has a great arm and can make good throws. It's not surprising he was able to mop up in garbage time. But he struggles mightily as soon as the game speeds up and he has to make reads or deal with any type of pressure.

Also time of possession and 3rd down defense. And the other turnovers that affected time off possession and potential points off the scoreboard.

He really struggles picking up pressure and blitzes. Not uncommon for a backup with limited reps.

GREAT arm? No. No, no, no. Adequate arm strength. Inconsistent accuracy.

Gibson mostly played in garbage time, and threw a pick 6. Pyron’s first pick was as good as a punt - 3rd and 12 and pinned them on the 1.

Our punting and punt receiving is an endless well of misery and frustration. Seems like every other team I watch is far better at it than we are.

Looks like a close game just looking at the stats https://www.ncaa.com/game/6006261/boxscore
Also saw where Gibbs had six yds rushing & one reception for 5 yds for Bama
Gibbs is so overrated. I'm not saying he is not a valuabe player, just overrated. I can't beleive how the CBS anouncer gushed over hin in Tennessee -Bama game. He is fast and he can make people miss but I would not take him before the 3rd round if I were an NFL team. He can't run effectively up the middle. Too small and no strength. His pass blocking is awful. He might could be a pretty good NFL slot back if he can run routes. I wish him the best. and hope he proves me wrong in the NFL.

Gibbs got hurt early yesterday and didn't play much, if at all, after the first quarter.
there are lies, damn lies and statistics. Those stats from yesterday don't reflect the ass kicking received from Da U.
Hell, Missy State outgained us by a lot in the 2014 Orange Bowl. But whose ass got kicked that night? Theirs, not ours.
