Hear me out - the braves starting pitching leaves a lot to be desired yet they have a lot of young good pitchers - Carle, Wilson, Fried, Gausman, Gohara, Sobotka, Soroka, Touissant. So why not let Folty and Newcombe be normal starters ( 6inning starts) but on the other days go with the new wave of pitching style of guys going 3 innings and then turning it over to the next guy. The Braves are set up for it. These guys have not proven themselves well enough to be inning eating starters but could be effective in shorter roles. Throw Teheran in there with the bunh above and let these guys be your 3-5 starters unless someone proves themselves enough to be in the 6 inning starter category. Just sayin!!!!! Like be progressive forward thinkin man!

Lots of 'above average to good' pitching doesn't win playoff series. You might win 90+ games, but Kershaw and friends (and their 2.06 ERA) are gonna cornhole you again in a 5 game series.

Loser Braves fans would be happy with that though since they don't value rings, so maybe that is their best move.

you're a dick but you speak the truth. I don't think we'll be seeing championship caliber teams (top 4 teams of the year) employing the opener strategy very often. That said, the Brewers, Dodgers, and As all used openers at some point during the season and the Brewers even used an opener to face one guy in game 5 of the NLCS, which was stupid.

There is not a single component that holds a team back from winning titles. With that logic the Braves should have more world series titles from having the best staff for a decade. The team has been slowly improving and the pitching could be really solid 1-4. Newcomb, Folty, Teheran, and Gausman are all players who are capable of going 12+ wins and sub-4 era.

So just good enough to get cornholed again by more committed teams in the playoffs.

    Check.

Does it get old trolling the braves threads? Instead of posting insightful info you just öööö all over it with your pessimistic jealous bullshit.

Honestly, yes. You're just keeping the facade up at this point that you care.

pitching and lineup aren't good enough, but they're close. I'll be upset if the team doesn't change between now and opening day, but I don't think that's going to happen.
