1. Improved PLAY by the special teams...Was nice to see them get their roles handled. Overall much better coverage & tackling....as a unit...Still some tweaking/tuning to do there.

2. Of course the 2 long passes to CJ were AWESOME...Happy to see Reggie get the ball to him in middle of field in stride.....GREAT RESULTS....hope to see more of that.

3. Defense lights out.....Roberson was great....LB can't say enough about their performance. Secondary did a good job as well....outside giving up the 1 catch for TD in the EZ

Was pleased with the teams performance...We came out & took over the game....We took away the running game & put the game on their QB shoulders by forcing him to throw & make quick decisions....talk about throwing your QB into the fire (but every freshman says they want thier PT just a hard ROAD to PLOW as a true freshman)

The A-1 biggest improvement of this game was that on kickoff coverage, our guys aren't charging full speed at the ball carrier anymore. They're charging full speed until they get to the 25, then breaking down and making the tackle. Thank heavens.

Does anyone have any stats on D Richards? He was such an impact in '03, I thought he would have a breakout season. I saw him break the line a couple of times. Where is BIG D?

yep, totally agree. You saw them staying in their lanes and breaking down. Very nice. Didn't see any of the 6 or 7 guys in one spot like we have been seeing on kickoffs.

I thought it was a very 'efficient' game last night.

The defense did what you expected it would and shut UVA down. I know that Sewell is pretty green but anytime you hold a conference opponent to 166 yards of total offense you have done a tremendous job. If it weren't for the turnover then we would be praising a shutout. Hall and Wheeler both had stellar games and I thought Oliver, Robertson and Scott played well also.

Offensively, GT was efficient with two quick strikes to CJ and pretty much had control of the game by the half. I liked the passing game last night (Mike Cox was phenomenal throwing the ball :D ). Seriously, I thought RB was smart in his decision-making and took advantage of the situations in front of him. The running game wasn't as strong as it has been, but then again when you can go up top like GT was able to do the running game becomes secondary. I think UVA's strong point is their D-Line, and Choice's long run on the clipping call did help GT hit 100 yards for the game.

Special teams, the lone kickoff and punt coverages, looked much better this week. Special teams seemed to be playing under a little bit better control.

GT had the game in hand, but I got a little uncomfortable with the score 24-7 and UVA in GT territory with about 10 minutes to go, but the subsequent fumble pretty much put the game away. I would have liked to have seen a little better O production from the middle of the 3rd up until the second string came in, but by then CJ was done for the night and the offense had pretty much shifted into neutral.

Only other comment I have is that I was surprised to see so many fans leaving the game as early as they did. I was in the east stands and some sections of the west were clearing out a bit early. That being said I do understand it's a Thursday night and people need to get home. I was up at 4:45 this morning so I actually headed for home with about five minutes left myself. All in all it was a great night under the lights.

It took me TWO HOURS to get TO the game last night, and that was from MARIETTA! I left with 4 minutes to go, to try and escape Atlanta so I could make it to work today. Tech fans have jobs. :)

that traffic is brutal, specially for an older man like me;)

We left home at 4pm and made great time until we exited I20 onto I75N. It was a parking lot so we jumped off and threaded up to Tech thru downtown Pretty thick then almost stopped when we got to the Fox. But we were there in plenty of time.

Afterwards, dropped my daughter off at her appartment up Peachtree then headed home. Pulled into the driveway at 2:10. I'm taking vacation day today.
