That's not exactly true now is it Mid? The fire Danny Hall was done by a poster to just draw attention. Others have done the same. Many posters on BO defend CCG many don't. Now read and you might learn something. As for SLJ he more than most bashed CCG like he was the ugly step child. He's had a conversion and praises CCG here like he is the 2nd coming. So don't ask SLJ the meaning of BO, ask someone who really knows like Bunger, McJacket, or even Rambler14 (a focr) etc. I'm neither defending BO or it's posters or people here. Nor am I attacking people here, just asking that all of you should get your facts straight. I understand that SLJ and BeeBad had words that got very heated. So those two guys should be excused from the debate.

When statements are made like mid did about being unhappy with life, then people can draw from statements like that, that people like mid are mediocre in life to support mediocrity at Tech.

but my point is that they are going to act as if they're his biggest supporters this weekend when they were bashing him just a few weeks back during the Clemson games.

Say what? When have won the ACC and beat UGA under Chan? Forget winning the ACC, how about just a win over UGA? In my humble opinion,the main difference between BO posters and ST/Hive posters isn't that one is a bigger fan of Tech than the other, or that BO posters are miserable with their life. The difference is simply their outlooks on life. Some are willing to settle for whatever comes their way and make excuses as to why things aren't great and others demand perfection/results and constatly strive to do better (kind of like Liberals vs. Conservatives views on welfare. Some are blinded by their loyalty to GT to the point that any criticism of anything to do with Tech is considered blasphemy, while the BO folks have hefty expectations and don't like listening to excuse after excuse.

Obviously I'm not a supporter of Chan, I gave him plenty of chances and I am 100% convinced Tech will never live up to our full potential under him. I don't expect us to win every game by any means, but it's just the way we lose them that is absolutely pathetic and demoralizing to the me. Go ahead...bash away.

No the difference in BO posters is that most are black/white on everything when we live in a grey world. Chan is not a great coach imo, but he's certainly not the worst in the world. He does some things pretty well but in other areas has not done what needs to be done. That's a balanced approach to things. Whether he should have been fired is something that can be debated. But it's possible to have a rational conversation. The BO folks won't have that. Chan sucks, everything he's ever done sucks, his assistant coaches (except usually Tenuta) sucks and his players suck. Oh and by the way anyone who doesn't agree with them sucks and is an idiot and doesn't have Tech's best interests at heart. See the difference?

Settling and Excuses are terms that you use to describe people that are O.K. with Chan. You may consider it settling but the way I feel is that their RIGHT NOW there is not be a better option for GTech. People say Ken Whisenhunt but who says Ken W. wants to coach at Tech? I just want to know who the coaches that are jumping at a chance to take on all the challenges of Tech. The Hill, a-hole fans that want to axe you after going bowling every year, being the 2nd school in-state, <font color="red"> being in the middle of a probation </font> !!!!, etc. etc. etc.
You say EXCUSES. I think these are obstacles that weren't even caused by Chan. Give the guy a friggin break. These are not excuses they're fact.

I think that we have remained competitive while under D. Braines watch and now have a new force in AD and I will expect us to improve and if we don't (trust me when all the scholarship restrictions are gone and we aren't playing for Chamipionships(State, ACC))...I'll be jumping on the Can Chan wagon too.

You're right, there are a lot of people on BO who are 100% Chan sucks, I think he sucks, but I don't think he is the worst coach in college football (although I seem to remember him winning that award a year or two ago from SI). From my limited exposure to ST, I think dissent at BO is treated much like it is here. It is almost entertaining to go back and forth between the two and see how bad one board bashes the other, but how much fun would the message boards be if we all agreed?

Off the topic: My problem with Chan deals mostly with his coaching philosphy, he coaches and calls the plays to "not lose" the game, wherease most succesful coaches coach to win (and don't tell me there's no difference b/t the two). Which is exactly what the commentator's said verbatum during the Utah game regarding the two QB's, we want our QB to not lose the game, whereas Utah wants their QB to win the game.

I think this sums up the differences between the knee jerking actions promoted by the hip shooting Buzzzed Offs and the practical, rationale of the majority of the Sting Talkers, about as good as it can be stated. BTW, I don't think the comments from the bowl game support what you're trying to say about Chan. I think what they were trying to convey is differing styles of offense. Utah needs a QB to win the game. He has to have a big game for them to have a chance. Chan wants to win with the running game and efficient QB play, not using the QB as the prime weapon. That doesn't mean Chan is coaching to "not lose". It means he's trying to win a different way.

There's some posters over there I've found to be knowledgable Tech fans who have taken a different view than me, but they have been drowned out by the bloodthirsty drivel of many posters. These posters:

- Dismissed a Tech recruit as a one star and all the well documented antics defending that statment.
- Brag about never going to a game in years and how they want to stop supporting Tech at all because of Chan.
- Love calling Reggie Leon and saying that PJ wasn't tough enough, then saying that they really want to protect the players from Chan.
- Predicted us by something like an 80-20 margin to lose to Duke last season.
- Gloated in how some people booed when GT took a knee to end the game, cause it shows how many people really didn't like Chan, nevermind the outright supidity of their booing.
- Sang from the rooftops when Zam transferred and outright begged Dickey to do the same. Shoot me before I ever talk about a GT SA in such disparaging terms.
- Some posters predictably wanted to fire Danny Hall, to the point where it was hard for me to tell who was being serious and who was mocking the FDHers.
- I think the one time they posted on Golf was the one time Golf did badly.

Again, I think there's been some fine members over there and there have been some good threads where I've gotten information that I wouldn't have got anywhere else. But now many of these posters have left or post much less than the 3-5 that constitute most of the activity over there.

Georgia Tech went 7-5 last year. You know what that means?

Buzzoff was right 5 times and wrong 7 times.

Your are welcome Mid, I won't call you an "asshole" as was said about posters on BO. I think you are dumb as a rock yes but "asshole no" and wear your mediocrity as a badge of courage. Course I don't know if you need the medal or a chest to pin it on. Thanks Bogey for calling all the folks on BO "assholes", guess you didn't stop to think that includes you since you post regularly on BO.

No Bogey, I didn't take it as insult, in fact as Mid says I got a good laugh. We can all agree to disagree about CCG but we can all still be Tech fans and wish for the best for the SA.

But of course with so called fans like upwith he can not nor does he ever offer insight into the program (just plain stupid I guess) just bash and try and fails to make other posters look bad.

By the way SLJ is no more an expert on BO than you, I or many others.
