There was a thread earlier about getting the call from the GT ticket office. They called me this morning and I brought up something that I wanted to mention in its own thread.
I'm an outta towner but always buy my season tickets even tho I can rarely come down for a game. Up until a few years ago, the GTAA would offer double-point credit (AT-points) for each returned ACC home ticket and single-point credit for non-ACC home tickets.
I found this to be a very good program and would always return the tickets I wasn't planning on using so the GTAA could sell them to Tech people (they promised the tickets would only go to Tech folks and I had the people who sit nearby confirm that they had never seen an opposing fan in my seat).
For some reason, the GTAA stopped the program. I asked the ticket rep to reconsider starting it back up. He thought the idea would fly and when I offered to send a note to dRad, he thought it was a good idea.
So the point of my post is that if you would like to see this program come back, send a note to dRad.
I also told the rep to send a note to all the outta town season ticket holders reminding them NOT to sell their tix on stubhub, ebay, etc. but to SEND THEM BACK.
This way, I get a good benefit, GTAA gets to sell the ticket twice and our team gets the benefit of a Tech fan in an otherwise empty or enemy occupied seat.
Let dRad know what you think. He does listen and if enough of us chime in they might start the credit-for-tickets program back up.
