I notice that they haven't said how many Calvin Johnson bobbleheads they'll actually give away on Saturday. They're first-come, first-served and gates open at 5:30 for the 7p game. I'll be pretty annoyed if I miss out on one of these, but I'm also not going to get there 1.5 hours before kickoff.

Cool that we're doing this, and I guess it's a way to encourage people to show up early, but based on past experience, we'll probably botch it somehow...

They’ll give them away before the gate and then not allow them into the stadium.

The website says they will open the gates 2 hours before the game. Wow! I guess I will miss out on them, also.

E-mail said gates open at 5:30 (1.5 hours before the game). Who knows. Probably not a lot of people going into the stadium more than an hour before kickoff even with the bobbleheads, I've got to think. Here's the relevant part of teh e-mail:

We are excited to honor Calvin Johnson for being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. A limited edition Calvin Johnson bobblehead will be distributed at the gates at Bobby Dodd Stadium on a first come, first served basis. Bobby Dodd Stadium gates will open at 5:30 p.m.



Calvin Johnson Bobblehead Giveaway

Bobbleheads will be distributed at Gates 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 & 10 and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Bobby Dodd Stadium gets [sic] will open at 5:30 p.m.

I'll just find some Miami fan who grabbed one and take his.
 
It’s going to be like Black Friday at Best Buy. First two fans at each gate get a bobble head (70 inch tv). Everyone else gets a discounted coke (Hanwong brand DVD player).

Is he honorary captain for the game? We need him back on campus helping out. I know he wasn't a CPJ player, but he's a Tech man.
 
My e-mail says first 10,000. I'm not sure why yours is not showing that.
 
Some of you aren't doing your 80K lifestyle right. If you donated more than 1K to the GTAA in the last year, you got invited to a met and greet with Calvin prior to the game where you get a bobble head.

Some of you need to step up your game.
 
Only 10k? Lame. I did just get an email from my GTAA rep (who has been spamming me) inviting me to bump up to Heisman Level ($1000) to go to the meet and greet.

If Calvin could suit up for the game if I gave, I’d consider it. :-)

They really should refuse to give any to Miami fans. Visiting fans tend to show up early to find their seats.
