Wouldn't we run a different package of the offense with Booker because he's not a real running threat?
I downloaded this week's press conference and listened to it on the way to work today. It's a half hour long, and more comprehensive than the excerpts they post at rr.com.
The gist is that PJ isn't sure who will start. At least as of Tuesday. He said that Book could play, and that Book would be running the "regular" offense. Don't forget, ALL PJ plays have the same "package" of 2 WRs, 2 ABs, 1 BB, etceteras. He joked about that in the press conference, how defenses have these big signs they hold up to tell the guys on the field what personnel the offense has in, and how they never change it vs Tech. PJ also said Book would run the option, and that while he may not be fast (at all) he's a big dude (6'5", 250ish?) and hard to tackle.
He did say that having Booker in there might influence his playcalling, but it sounded to me like he definitely wasn't going to have a different "package" for Booker, which means we need A backs, which means we have to play Marcus. Embry is questionable, and Cox is going to have to back up Dwyer at B back because of our other injury, so that's two less A backs, leaving us with only two. No choice but to activate Wright. PJ said he expected Wright might get 15 snaps or so.
Personally, I rather expect Nesbitt to play until we get our first TD, Jaybo until we get our second, and Book the rest of the way.
