Looking for good, honest analytical Techie feedback on this one...

Recently submitted a request to post messages on The Hive. Just received the following back today:
Your application to http://insiders4.ezboard.com/bthehive has been
DENIED

Gosh... I've never posted anything on that board so I know that I have never said anything degrogatory or offended anyone. Am I missing something here or am I just too new to the scene to appreciate any past history lessons. I don't think I'm radioactive and my credit seems to be in good order.

Please help me understand the rationale they might use for denying access to their board. Should I contribute first, then ask for permission to post? I'm definitely doing something wrong.

Only 2 logical explanations:

1. You applied with a free email account like hotmail or yahoo.

2. You and I share the same name.

my guess is it would be a random act of censorship by someone who is woefully inadequate and gets his jollies bullying people around on his website...

but that's just a guess...

Nope... used a regular valid e-mail address. No HOTMAIL OR YAHOO. Guess I'll stay here for a while!

That board is woefully cumbersome and too difficult to even bother with. From a functional standpoint it is pathetic.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">What was your name on there? Buzz Bomb?

I know you might get denied if you use a players name. One of my buddies tried to register as AJSuggs last year and of course he was denied.

Nope... I registered there some time back but never actually tried to post until recently. I used the name: RamblinWrek, mostly out of ignorance because I couldn't think on anything spiffy and creative at the time (the neurons just fire a little more slowly as you get older). I checked via e-mail with the Hive Mod and he indicated this name was not problematic and I could have it. Finally mustered the energy to submit a request to post, and as Emerald L. would say, "BAM" -- I was denied the right to post messages. No problem... this is really a great board to post on. Just curious more than anything.

Thanks for your followup explanations.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">They may have changed their minds, considering that the head guy is RamblinReck and the name is so similar to his.

Try again with Buzz Bomb and I'll bet it works.

They are part of the EZBoard deal so if you drop me a line (email) I'll tell you how to get approved easy.

Buzz Bomb,

You could be requesting a login from a banned IP
address. That would just be bad luck.

Also...

We get alot of problematic names like 'winlessindoak'
and etc. If something sounds derogatory it will
normally get rejected.

I rejected 'RamblinWreck' because it was too close
to RamblinReck's handle. I think RR went back in
and approved it for you and let us know that he
had spoken to you in advance.

Personally, I like 'Buzz Bomb' more. =]

Its not about censorship.

I mean...would you really want handles on this board
that were 'beeware', 'beware', beeeware', 'beewary'
'beewared', 'beeware1', 'beewaro' and etc?

CJ:

I noticed you were a Mod on the Hive. Do you have the capability to change the Hive username to 'Buzz Bomb' for me. I registered there some time back and just wasn't thinking like a physicist at the time I created the username. You just get stupid in your old age, I guess. I should have known better and been more creative.

Anyway... we don't have Tech/Clemson tickets but we're probably going to walk the campus on Sat to try and see if we can't locate you and DJ so that we can meet you personally. I'll just ask around the Mgmt and AMC lots until we seek you out by the process of elimination.

Thanx...
