Can Anyone Remember a More Disappointing Year?

The hoops team failing to live up to the super-frosh hype (OK, they did make it to the NCAA's for one game), then having them bail. Baseball sucking, failing to make NCAA's and losing 2 of 3 to Ugag. Football - Nuff said!

Good thing ladies tennis was there to salvage an otherwise bad year for GT athletics.

I know we've been worse (Hey, I was there when Duane Morrison was hoops coach and Rock Fulcher was FB, so I know), but with all the high expectations in the three major men;s sports, I don't recall ever being so depressed.

He is not an ACC calibre coach. No reason we should not be a lot better Bball program.
 
2002, 2005 and last year all come to mind. All of them were easily more disappointing than this year. This year the disappointment was relieved some knowing that it was pretty darn obvious we would be firing Gailey at the end of the season. That in itself was relief for this year.
 
2005 with our ass kicking in San Fran to Utah is easily my most disappointed season, with last year being a very close second. 2001 was disappointing, but 2002 made 2001 seem like a dream season.
 
1999 was a tough year, with wf knocking us out of any bcs bowl possibility. It's a good thing js fumbled at our goal line that year, or 99 would have REALLY sucked.
 
A more disappointing year? Boy you must be new around here.
 
We also had 4 players in 3 different sports selected in the 1st round of professional drafts.

You beat me to it. Last year was as disappointing in the end, but I think this year had more preseason expectations. Many thought the way things went last year could not possibly go uncorrected and there was so much talent returning. The leadership--on and off the field --just wasn't there. Here's hoping for a better future.
 
Going for only 8 wins with a Heisman runner up in 1999 was more disappointing.
