happening to Tech in any recent year? I honestly can't remember seeing any Tech team in my recent memory get devastated as bad as this years team has.
Is it just bad luck or what? Poor contitioning?? I don't have the answer. It is just amazing to see so many of our starters going down one by one. I guess it goes to show you can NEVER have too much depth.
I am not the biggest Chan-fan, but I have to say, he has been snookered by injuries in his first season.

I didn't think so! Thanks for the overwhelming replies.

Injuries really do stand out this year, mostly because of who they've happened to. The leading rusher in the nation, for instance. And the D-line All-American.

I have not seen or heard of injuries of this magnitude on any team in college football. Many years ago, injuries decimated Texas A&M and they had to call student/players out of stands during a game to dress out and stand ready to play. That is where their 12th man tradition originated. But those injuries were not season-ending injuries, and football teams were much smaller back then.

Yea, as a matter of fact - the "other " team I pull for, the Raiders have had almost as many injuries.....Bad luck for GR all the way around this year

Not recently but when I was a freshman (1975) we lost a ton of players to injury. IIRC 11 or 12 guys who started at one time went down. I think we played Duke with our second string backfield.

Hey NCJacket, we were at Ma Tech at the same time. Now I know you are an OF like me.

FatJacket, you call 1975 an OF? Why my youngest son finished up in the early 70's and this OF goes back to 1946.

I salute you Big Buck. Thanks for making me feel that I am not too much of an OF yet!

I don't know if ncjacket would be considered an "OF" or a "AOF" (almost OF) but there have been many times lately when I would consider him an elder statesman.

Thank you ncjacket.
