Can\'t Help But Wonder

If NCAA saw something in there that we weren't privy to. Not attempting to flame our AA, but from what I was under the impression of as our rules breaking, NCAA seems to have considered it much more flagrant. I really thought our clean record over the years and what I thought was an accidental rules violation, would have resulted in a mere warning and maybe a hand spanking in the "cloak room". But what we are getting seems more akin to an old fashioned "flogging" on the town square. I must have missed out on some details in the beginning of the whole mess.
This will really be a boon to our recruiting now.

You can get one of these for about a hundy during convention season.

Seriously, the fact that the ncaa found more than what we self reported couldn't have been good for us.

None of the \"ineligibles\" have ever been named,

BUT based on the years (1998-2004) and based on this quote:

"[m]any of these student-athletes were prominent members of the team, including multiple-year starters who had received conference and national recognition for their athletic performances," infractions committee chairman Gene Marsh said."

I would guess the Committee (incorrectly, IMHO) deduced that some of the infractions were NOT inadvertant.

Re: Can\'t Help But Wonder

Did we ever learn who it was that goofed up to cause this whole debacle? Clough, Braine, Moore, Gailey???????
I wonder how this will come through in the ticket sales in the immediate future.
I wonder how this will effect the big buck donations in the future.

Re: Can\'t Help But Wonder

"...donations in the future." Unless GT takes action to clean up by asking for resignations of those responsible, I can tell you for sure that donations will CONTINUE to decline.

Re: Can\'t Help But Wonder

Doubt Gailey had much to do with 98, 99, 00, but Braine should do what's right and submit his resignation over this debacle.

Doubt, much. Please explain how Gailey could have anything to do with that period of time since he wasn't even here. I guess it is the same way he is to blame every time a pass is dropped but gets no credit when a pass is caught. Sorry if I have over reacted but it seems there are always these little slaps at him.
