What was the number when Tiger was tied for lead? I had to drive all the way to real Conyers for a tennis match so I’ve been out of the loop. Lowest I saw him was -5 and the lead was -6 or -7 at that point.

I played in a 4 man scramble today. Rain halted us after 2 holes but we got back to playing fairly quickly and the final 4 groups in the open hadnt teed off yet when we went back out. They all finished before we did.

My one gripe is slow play. Seems that wasn't the case today. Helps when JB Holmes isn't out there.

They can’t exactly play any faster than the group in front of them. Doesn’t that mean that everyone played quickly? Tee times are every 10 minutes and you can’t approach the green until everyone else is off so at best you could maybe play 5 minutes quicker than the group in front of you.

And how about Bernhardt Langer. 61-year old guy starting the final day under par!

That course will be a beast today. Pins are tucked and winds are fierce.

Theory has been slower greens has improved overall pace of play. I can see some of this, but that is probaly 45 minutes to an hour quicker. R&A is just head and shoulders above the USGA in how they setup courses. Eurotour also has been experimenting with a shot clock.

And yea, my original point was pace of play by everyone.

Usually not the best idea to pick the hot golfer going in to the major, but Molinari disproved that. I believe he ha three wins and two seconds in his last six starts. Amazing.

This was a very entertaining Open. A great course played differently each day for four days. You saw birdies and eagles as well as bogeys and worse. A great leaderboard emerged for the last two rounds and a deserving champion was crowned. Much more entertaining than recent U S Opens.

Nice round by Francesco. He's a hot hand but he's always been a great ball striker. Love to see these Sunday leaderboards with tons of major winners on them. It wasn't that way for awhile, it seems. I don't necessarily know what that says about the game... Either the talent is deeper out there or there's just not one or two dominant guys. Maybe both.

I have renewed confidence that Tiger will win another major or two. He was very close this week. I didn't see 11 and 12 today from him but I know he lost a stroke yesterday on a bogey at 16 after a gorgeous tee shot that just leaked off the green. (No doubt he's not the only golfer that had bad breaks this week.) I think he'll win another jug and another jacket, at least.
